The server seemed annoyed and rude. When I asked for plates, because she presented 6 appetizers for a family of 5 with 3 plates, she gave us 2 extra plates. The when I asked for an additional plate to place the uneaten sting on, she grabbed my plate and shuffled the spring roll onto it. I ended up using the dirty wonton serving plate that was left behind. (No the dirty plates were not removed from our table even though they were stacked at the end of it for easy access)
As for the food, there was too much white pepper in the fried rice with very little salt, making it difficult to eat. We placed 2 orders of the fried rice and unfortunately it was inedible. We left all the food on the table. And when asked for carry-out containers, we declined explaining the issues with the food.
Honestly the only reason we visited this restaurant was because my children wanted Cold Stone.
Wish the service and food was better. Atmosphere was average.

This place is where you want to talk about fresh Chinese cuisine. The savory flavors are rich and amazing, and on top of that, the warm welcome and excellent service make you feel truly special as a customer. The cleanliness of the establishment adds to the overall pleasant experience. It’s the only destination for all fresh Chinese dishes: China Manor

The food is pretty average and the atmosphere is a bit outdated but the service is always quick and friendly. We order from here mainly because of the location. The sushi is okay for the most part, my favorite thing to order is their Singapore noodles. We haven’t tried that many dishes so my review is based on the few things we’ve tried so far.

We’re new to the area and tried a couple of Chinese take-out places. If we had found China Manor first we wouldn’t have tried any other place! The General Tso was made with “real” chicken chunks, that seemed freshly battered. The sauce was the perfect amount heat and sweet and didn’t taste like it was from a jar. The chicken lo mein was delicious with “real” chicken that didn’t seem overly tenderized and mushy but still moist and flavorful. The fried rice and egg roll were also fantastic.
Also the gentleman that answered the phone was easy to understand and very kind. He took the time to explain where they were located.
*We can’t wait to try more on their menu.*

Honestly half convinced this place is a front… I visited after a funeral and the staff was rude and seemed irritated at our presence. They were seemingly arguing across the restaurant in what I think was Chinese. Place was grimy and outdated. Food was worse. Dry rice and chicken that held the dubious honor of being both rock hard in some places and undercooked in others.
If you are considering it, I implore you to reconsider. My mouth still hurts from the chicken, even though I was only able to choke two pieces down.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and it’s hands-down one of the best spots for Chinese food. Dine-in or takeout, the food is always fresh, and tastes great. The sushi is consistently top-notch, but my absolute favorite dish is the crispy beef – perfectly cooked, with just the right balance of crunch and savory sweetness.
Great food and staff—highly recommended!

It’s a hot day…my young kids are “a lot.” I used to tell my kids about going to China Town in Chicago when I was younger and always getting pretty umbrellas in my drinks. My kiddos really liked this story and asked me if they could get drinks like I used to. So, on a whim, I took them to China Manor (i know–not quite DT Chicago on the red line) and sat them down and asked if we could order drinks with umbrellas and man…. China Manor delivered! Thank you so much for making special memories with my kiddos– my very rambunctious and almost embarrassing chaotic stress of a family! We had a wonderful time with our special drinks and mochi dessert. I cannot thank you enough for catering to our crazy.
Additionally: we’ve been dining in and ordering from here since we moved to Hampstead in 2012. I believe the owner actually delivered our first meal to our home when we were literally sitting and eating on boxes near closing hours. It’s a memory I’ll never forget and it’s so nice to see his recognition of us when we come in. The restaurant is kid friendly, exceptional food, and top of the line service. If I can say one thing about China Manor it’s that after all our years coming here we have never been disappointed (egg foo young, chicken and vegetables, sushi galore, pork lo mein, sesame chicken, general tso chicken, egg rolls, spring rolls, edamame, crab Rangoon, wonton soup—these are our go-tos). My husband and I often go here on date night (yes, there is a bar) and just about every Christmas Eve with the kiddos. I personally, have not ever been disappointed with our experience here.
