China Mama was a fantastic dining experience and easily one of the most authentic Chinese meals we’ve had in the U.S.
We ordered the crispy duck, beef tendon appetizer, and spicy wontons, and every dish delivered bold, well-balanced flavors. The crispy duck was especially memorable—perfectly crunchy skin on the outside with juicy, tender meat inside, seasoned just right without being overly greasy. The beef tendon appetizer had that ideal texture: soft yet slightly chewy, deeply infused with savory spices, and incredibly satisfying. The spicy wontons were packed with flavor, coated in a rich chili oil sauce that had a nice kick but didn’t overpower the dish.
One thing to note is that rice is not included with these dishes, which is common in many traditional Chinese restaurants, especially those aiming for authenticity. Once you know that, it makes sense—each dish is meant to stand on its own.
What really stood out was how close the flavors were to what we had while visiting China. From the seasoning to the cooking techniques, the food felt genuine and comforting, not overly Americanized. The overall experience brought back memories of eating in local restaurants abroad—simple, bold, and focused on letting the ingredients shine.
I’d also add that China Mama is pretty clean and well-maintained, which made the dining experience comfortable. This started off as our plan B for dinner, but we’re so happy that fate pushed us into this restaurant. Delicious!! Multiple appetizers and entrees for our party of 4. Wonderful food! Hot, fresh and flavorful! Sea Bass, Crispy Beef, Orange Chicken, Pot Stickers, Dumplings, and a couple of Old Fashioned’s to top it off. If we’re ever back in Las Vegas, we’ll definitely hit this spot again! Restaurant was clean and ambiance was pleasant. Yingyi was great! Really friendly and offered great menu options. Promote to General Manager immediately!!!

I’ve been meaning to try this place for sometime now and have finally got a chance. We went to the location in the Shanghai plaza in Chinatown. The place was pretty busy, but we were seated quickly. We ordered the Mama’s special pan fried buns, braised beef noodle soup, pork chops, and signature three cup chicken (discounted price). The pan fried buns came out almost instantly, which was good because we were hungry, but they were also lukewarm (it may have been already prepared beforehand). The braised beef noodle soup was delicious and the fried pork chops were tasty. The three cup chicken was also good, but it seemed like they gently fried the chicken first (haven’t had it that way before). Overall, the place did it’s job and filled us up until dinner.

We heard the lunch hour is very busy; as visitors, we planned our visit for the early afternoon. Arriving @ 2:15pm on a Wednesday, we were able to walk right in and get a table, the restaurant was about 80% full.
Taking a cue from Guy K., we ordered the Crispy Fried Beef, Green Beans and the house chow mein. Our kind waitress remarked ‘those are all my favorites’.
The green beans arrived first; the seasoning was AMAZING and the texture of the deep fried beans just delectable. Is that preserved vegetable in there I taste? One of my favorite asian ingredients. As were picking at the beans, the fried beef and noodles arrived.
The beef, a sizable portion, was delicious, slightly spicy. You will get a decent amount of ‘batter bits’, but they’re delicious too.
The noodles were just right, could’ve used more proteins IMO, and well seasoned. I did slather on a little chili paste.
Rice is not included and must be ordered a la carte, but we didnt need it.
The included hot tea was very good.
Loved being able to see the kitchen staff through the window.
They have an ordering kiosk setup for to-go orders which I thought was pretty cool. They also have a tiny bar/lounge.
Service was superb.
Looking forward to visiting again on our next trip to LV!

Overall experience was good. We ordered 3 plates, fried sweet/sour pork, beef roll, and duck. The beef roll was pretty good but the outside was pretty dry and tough compared to others I’ve had. The pork had a very “porky” flavor to it, which I was not very fond of. The sauce wasn’t as strong flavored as others we’ve had either. It was was probably the worst plate of the 3. The duck was actually pretty good. Good flavor, crispy, and great sauce with it. Walked out spending over $80.
