Finally got to try this Sichuan spot I’ve been hearing so much about! Since we had our 2-year-old with us, we stuck to non-spicy dishes, but everything was still honestly so good. The soup was amazing—really unique flavor. The service was top-notch, too. The staff was super sweet with our little one and even gave him a gift on our way out. Such a great experience!

As chengdu local people. This sichuan style food I can confirm is very original. And its service is very friendly and price is surprisingly reasonable as well. If you love Chinese spicy food from sichuan chengdu you must try.

We’ve been here a few times now and it’s the quality of food you’d only find in SF or Oakland. Authentic and exceptional in all counts. It’s clean and comfortable with great service. My only disappointment is no Hong Kong style noodles but this is not a Cantonese region restaurant, I still enjoy it.
The beef and tripe dish is outstanding!

The location used to be one of my favorite Shanghainese restaurants but it probably changed owner so it’s now Sichuan food.

Even before going my friend told me that there really isn’t too many choices for good Chinese food around the area so my expectations wasn’t that high. Even so I don’t think it gives you a good value for the quality of the food.

First, I know it’s a Sichuan restaurant but even so it has probably the weirdest Mongolian beef I’ve ever had as they fried the beef. The Boiling Beef is much better but nothing to write home about. Basically everything I had was so so. The frog was not fresh. And the best is probably the cabbage dry pot which is ironic because it’s literally the easiest dish. Overall for the price I would say it’s worth even 3 stars. I’m giving it this rating just because this area is so lacking in Chinese food.

Service is alright and I could tell right away the people working there are not from the Sichuan area. The biggest redeeming value is that they don’t automatically add big tip for large group. It’s however really expensive for what you get.

Overall it’s a restaurant that you only go if you live around the area but avoid if you live closer to better places in the Bay Area.

This certainly looks and does taste like what I imagine a very authentic Chinese restaurant to be like. The menu is quite extensive, and though we got the spicy garlic eggplant and the sweet-and-sour fish, were many other dishes I would like to try. The service is very friendly but there was a little difficulty in understanding the waitress and the interior is certainly clean but a little sterile – so not really about the atmosphere – only the food. For the price, the portion size was good too!

Best chinese food in the Bay area. Both authentic chinese and adapted for American taste. Very fresh ingredients, huge portions and friendly staff

Good spicy food on the menu. Hot and sour soup isn’t bad, but I’d skip the beef scallion pancakes.

I was absolutely impressed by their authentic flavors and impeccable presentation. The boiling fish (沸騰魚) was a true delight—perfectly marinated, tender, and infused with just the right amount of spice. Every bite was bursting with flavor and warmth.

The stir-fried pork (回鍋肉) was equally outstanding. The pork was succulent, paired with fresh, crisp vegetables, and cooked to perfection with a rich, savory sauce that complemented the dish beautifully.

Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service and ambiance of the restaurant also made the experience memorable. If you’re in the San Ramon area and looking for a place to enjoy authentic, high-quality Chinese Sichuan cuisine, China Lounge is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
