My mother has raved about China Lake restaurant in Somerset for several years. So, this year for her birthday we celebrated together with 20 friends and family. The food was tasty, hot and fabulous! The waitresses were excellent. I was able to hand off the cake to a waitress before the meal. When the time came, they presented the cake with candles to my mother. They also cut and served the cake as well. It was just terrific! They made this birthday very special. Thank you!!!

Ordered China Lake catering for a work meeting, huge success!
From the ordering process down to the pick up, the staff was kind and patient and super helpful. The food was great, everybody loves it! They even split the food in half for me so that I could drop it off at two different locations. Definitely try the egg rolls!

The quality of food is not the same at all. Prices have gone up and the portions have decreased- 3 shrimp in the shrimp with lobster plate- very little meat in my beef and broccoli was mostly all broccoli- sauce was different too – maybe new cook??

Placed large order DAY BEFORE New Years’ Eve. Gave name and phone number. Said we’d pick up at 6pm on New Year’s Eve. Got there at 6:15pm on New Year’s Eve, waited in line. Get to the register, no record at all of order. Drive home. Decide to call them and try and order again. Got through. Placed order. Called back 15 minutes later… NO RECORD OF ORDER. Will NEVER go back to those jokers again.

Since 2020 China Lake has gone down hill. I keep trying every few months but I’m done. I specifically ask for soggy fries and this is what they gave me. So crispy and gross. Chow mein hasn’t been great either. Not to mention $20 for chow mein and fries.

I got take out. The menu shown online isn’t up to date which isn’t their fault but they actually offer a lot more food than listed. I got the spring rolls, egg rolls, fried rice and crab Rangoon and they were all fantastic. The person on the phone and at the front was very nice. It looked clean when I went in. I may go for cocktails sometime.

The time I was here was 22 years ago. The food has not improved since then. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. It came to me on a plate with some type of orange color syrup on it and nothing else. I looked at the waitress and she told me that is what I ordered. I was dumbfounded. It sounded ok when I ordered it. My wife sent her entire meal back after two bites. I will never eat again. The staff is wonderful. The food is the worst. The bathrooms floors are sticky and need to be cleaned like they have never been cleaned before. On the way out, I notice the front door is also fility. I am not trying to be mean. It is just my opinion. I will never return to this restaurant even I was offered a free meal. Again I am not trying to be mean, just my observation.. Under recommendation I suggest another restaurant.

It’s getting to be a common practice for an issue with the ordering/receiving the Mandarin Triple meal correctly!! It supposedly come with shrimp, chicken and beef along with vegetables and white rice. I order this meal regularly and spicey but for reasons unknown, I don’t get the shrimp added despite informing the waitress of my past discrepancies and and still having issues even when eating at the facility!! The menu hasn’t changed with the exception of the price increase after Covid as well as they close earlier now too which I think is much too early especially on weekends!
