Today I had a very unpleasant experience at this establishment.
After having a very difficult day—a man hit my car on I-35 and fled the scene—I felt very bad, both physically and emotionally. I hadn’t had breakfast, I have gestational diabetes, and I needed to eat something to stabilize my blood sugar because I was dizzy and nauseous.
I went into the restaurant with my mother, my 2-month-old baby, and my 2-year-old daughter. The first thing I did was sit down because I really felt awful. While the woman was sweeping, she told the cook to take my order. I ordered orange chicken with spaghetti and two drinks. I always order a portion to share with my mother because I can’t eat much sugar due to my condition.
To my surprise, the woman angrily told me I couldn’t eat there, that she only sold takeout, and that I should go eat outside. The restaurant was completely empty; there wasn’t a single other customer, and all the tables were available. The service was incredibly rude and humiliating, especially considering I was with my young children and going through a difficult time. I used to live nearby and was a regular customer, always putting up with their bad attitude, but this time it was too much.
I ended up ordering takeout and went to eat in the park with my family, but I was left with a very bitter feeling.
Unfortunately, I don’t recommend this place. The customer service leaves much to be desired. No one deserves to be treated with contempt, especially when they’re just trying to get through a bad day as best they can.
This is the 3rd time this has happened. I have ordered the same thing as always Combo Lo Mein with some extra added. The last 3 times I have went, the cashier Dra has charged me a tip to give to herself, not the tip that comes across the screen when you pay. I have called her out on it each time. Today, she charged almost $1.75 extra to my order. I ask why does she keep doing that she stated no one has ever complained. Well of course not because no one has ever caught her doing it. I know exactly how much my order is & has been even after going up sightly on the price. The last time I had to ask her why she over charged me she took the money out of her pocket & gave it back me. Please check your receipt she will add her own tip without you even knowing it. If you are leaving them a tip on the screen they get tipped twice because she is charging your card the tip she wants. BEWARE DRA WILL CHARGE A TIP W/O ASKING!!!!!
And don’t take anything personal when you come in here, as this is an old school mom and pop joint
Didn’t have any issues with woman at the front, I ordered in person to go, I ordered the general Tao chicken but they brought out sesame instead (I like both so I don’t mind), and the sesame was sweet but not overwhelmingly so, the chicken was cooked well and I DID NOT find any hair like another reviewer said. Overall for what this place was its 4 stars, for a cheap Chinese spot it could be cheaper (it cost 11.65 but came with soup and an egg roll, and 9$ lunch but tbh the price isn’t bad) and they did get my order wrong but the sesame chicken was good, and it comes with a lot of food. I couldn’t even eat the soup or egg roll I was so full.
Overall don’t have high expectations, it doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not. It’s cheap Chinese but it’s still good and filling and you certainly get enough food to leave ya full
The sweet and sour chicken was good but the rice had that weird after taste too.
