Traveled all the way from Boston just for their “Chicken Fried Rice” ❤️

Years ago, during his struggling student days, my husband used to buy “Chicken Fried Rice” here when it was just $5 back then. He always spoke about the taste and the generous quantity, and those memories stayed close to his heart.

This time, he simply wanted to relive that memory and taste the same fried rice again. We honestly wondered if the taste would still be the same after all these years…

But to our surprise, he was amazed. The taste is still exactly the same!
Of course, the price is no longer $5, but the flavor and quantity are truly applaudable. Maintaining that same taste consistently over the years is something really special. Others which we ordered were great too!

After enjoying the delicious fried rice, we left with happy hearts, talking about all the memories he had tied to this place.

A big thank you to the “Chef” for maintaining the authentic taste, to the “Gentleman at the front desk” for welcoming us so warmly, and most importantly to the “Owner” who continues to run this restaurant with such consistency and care.

It’s beautiful to see that students from years back still remember this place and its food with so much affection.
Thanks a ton for the memories! ❤️✨

I review many places but this review will always hold special place! ❤️

First off, the atmosphere was dirty and uncomfortable. From the moment I walked in, the energy was off. The tiny man who claimed to be the manager was extremely rude—no greeting, no professionalism, and clearly irritated that I had questions. I was rushed to order and when I asked about menu items, he was completely unhelpful and dismissive, saying everything was “popular” instead of actually answering my questions. I specifically explained that I was asking because I didn’t want to have to return the food.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. I ordered a combination platter with General Tso’s chicken, fried rice, and an egg roll. After sitting down for less than two minutes and tasting it, the food was awful. The fried rice was bland, and the chicken didn’t even resemble General Tso’s—no flavor, no quality.

I went back to the counter, politely asked for the manager, returned the food, and requested a refund. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the little man who claimed to be the manager argued with me and outright refused to refund my money—even after taking the food back. I paid $14.25 for food I could not eat and customer service that was unacceptable.

I ultimately had to dispute the charge with my bank to get my money back. That alone should tell you everything.

To be clear, I wasn’t expecting anything unreasonable—I simply wanted decent food and basic customer service. I ended up going to Mama’s Taste in Fairfax City, and it was chef’s kiss. Great food, great service, zero regrets.

Between the filthy atmosphere, terrible food, rude management, and refusal to issue a refund, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go elsewhere.

The two stars is for quantity. They use to give a nice portion of food. The old school black plastic containers with rice on the side. Tonight I ordered beef with broccoli and there were two huge humps of rice with about 1 cup of beef and broccoli. This place used to be pretty good Chinese food with good amounts of food. For me, they lost their saving grace, a decent amount of food. I wondered why when I tried to order online it charged more for rice on the side. Disappointing!

Update: WAS the go to spot. Make sure you specify the NUMBER if you are ordering off the lunch menu during lunch otherwise this man will charge you off the regular menu and then not correct your order. I just wanted an egg roll man. Least you could do for a customer of over 20years

Go to spot for American Chinese pickup. They make their eggrolls super OG style with the dried little shrimps. Love. Same with red roast pork. So glad they finally switched to not styrofoam for the most part. Portions have gotten smaller with inflation.

China King Restaurant is truly the best in the area! The food is absolutely phenomenal, and the service is outstanding. The restaurant is spotless and offers a peaceful atmosphere, making it perfect for a family gathering. My personal favorites are the sweet and sour chicken and the extra-spicy Singapore noodles. They’re so delicious that I could easily enjoy them every day if I could!

Best fried rice I’ve ever had, get the combination aka “China King Fried Rice”. These are the other dishes I think are particularly high quality here and better than any other Chinese restaurant I’ve tried:
1. Hot and Sour Soup (order it with the fried rice and pour it over as a sauce)
2. Hot and Sour soup mixed 1/3 with 2/3 of the Egg Drop Soup
3. Sweet and Sour Chicken with extra pineapple (the red sauce is tangy and perfect)
4. Chicken and Broccoli, a classic, the brown sauce is excellent
5. General Tsao’s chicken…simply the best.

Good food, served hot, and friendly staff.

The food is very good and tasty consistently. Other Chinese restaurants might have meh food or just “generic food”, but this restaurant cooks the food the way I like it, with that classic Chinese food restaurant taste from years ago. Much better than the current Panda Express.

Highly recommended!

The food was great, the portions are sharable, and the restaurant was clean!!! The cashier and the food delivery person was just rude! They didn’t greet us when taking our order, and they just kept yelling out orders. They yelled an order out that sounded just like ours and the guy behind us so we went to get it and she got an attitude like we were trying to steal another order it sounded just like ours, but she said “Not yours you had this and this, this has this and this no onions!!! Okay, you didn’t yell that part…..Needless to say getting a name for the orders or giving out numbers would be a better option rather than saying shrimp fried rice and chicken wings when 3 people just literally ordered the same thing! Then she gave us the wrong food after we opened up the bag to check we saw it was orange chicken not general tso’s chicken we brought it to her attention she got an attitude like they don’t make mistakes she looked herself and said oh hold on this is yours and this belongs here and just put it in another bag. I asked for soy sauce and got two, I just ordered two dishes I need a little more than two!!!

Place is clean. Food is alright. Nothing special, so 4 star. I ordered fried dumplings, and they are not your typical dumplings. Very disappointed. They chose a easier way to make fried dumplings. See picture.
