First time diner , establishment is very clean with a 99 percent rating, service very slow, place was empty when we got there , food took about 30 minutes to come out, we started with a egg roll that tasted very fresh and not oily like some restaurants, the meals came out and were large, one meal can serve two people, the shrimp and broccoli was delicious, the rice is not traditional fried rice , it looked like Spanish made rice, the sweet and sour pork was bland even with the sweet sauce on it, overall I didn’t like the meal too much the meat looked under cooked , would maybe give the restaurant another try down the line, but dont expect me back in the near future . Learn to cook fried rice please , and waitress needs to smile , introduce yourself, be friendly even if you’re tired.

Just went to get some Hot and Sour Soup and it was good but the service was slow. I waited over 15 minutes for a cup of Soup that should have been a easy fix. Not sure what happened but maybe next time it will be better.

DELICIOUS! Homemade! Tasty sauces! I had egg drop soup (with those delicious, crispy noodles), and orange chicken that was obviously fresh with real orange peel, extra crispy + spicy.
My sweet wife had hot and sour soup and Cantonese chicken, which also tasted and was equally delicious and flavorful.
Our hostess was very kind and took great care of us.
This place had been open for over 30 years and the lady said it’s because they don’t skimp or go cheap on their food, because it’s so good compared to a typical Chinese restaurant these days. The cost was only $9.98 each + drink. Look at the bill! You must make this place your go-to Chinese restaurant, with friendly service!
BTW, the Mongolian beef and lemon chicken dishes are also superb…Give them a try and SEE!

The food is amazing! The portions are very generous, and the staff is very friendly. Can’t believe food this good is in this small town. Photo is what we were left with!

This place has been here since I arrived at Seymour Johnson AFB January of 2001. The decor hasn’t been updated since well before I arrived and it shows. My wife and I ate here for lunch today and the food was okay, the staff uninspired and the atmosphere is dark, worn and bit depressing. The positives are that the prices are reasonable and I didn’t get sick. If I come back, it will be against my will, LOL!

How does everyone not go to this restaurant? Literally the best Chinese food anywhere! The service is always friendly and fast, the portions are massive and the food is so fresh. A true gem in a small town.

China House is a true hidden gem for authentic Chinese cuisine, and their pompano fish is the star of the menu. Perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned, the fish is tender on the inside with a light, crisp finish that shows real skill in the kitchen. The flavor is delicate yet rich, and the sauce complements it without overwhelming the freshness of the fish.
Alongside the pompano, the rest of the menu delivers consistently great dishes — from handmade dumplings to wok-fried vegetables and rice with that signature smoky aroma. The service is quick, the portions are generous, and the prices are more than fair for the quality.
If you’re looking for authentic Chinese food with a standout specialty, the pompano fish at China House alone is worth the trip. I’ll definitely be coming back just for that dish.

I’ve been here 3 times since finding out about it through word of mouth at work. I’ll have to say that to food is fantastic, the waitress’s are nice and friendly. And your food comes out pretty quickly! China House is one of my favorite spots here in Goldsboro to eat at.

My son picked it up. He said it was SO dark and ‘sketch’.
The food was to go.
The bag opened up in the car and the styrofoam container was open. Rice went between the seats
Not their fault but a warning, check your bags!
Once home
The food was reheated in a toaster oven to just warm.
Pu pu platter. NOTHING was enjoyable. All bland and tough. The shrimp wasnt cleaned as the vein was still intact.
One shrimp was cooked until it was it was evaporated.
The beef on a stick was inedible shoe leather.
Pork ribs were not as tough but zero flavor.
I cant comment on egg rolls or the crab rangoon but my husband said ‘meh’
The pork fried rice was dry and zero flavor.
I had high hopes
