Reviews
I appreciate how simple and satisfying the menu feels: the appetizers are fun to share (especially if you’re picking up wings or spring rolls), and there’s plenty of variety in the combos so you can mix classics like fried dumplings, lo mein, and hot-and-sour soup all in one meal. Service can feel a bit casual, and some visits land better than others, but there’s a nostalgic, laid-back charm to this place that makes it a go-to for casual dinners or comfort food nights.
Overall: If you’re into classic, no-frills Chinese comfort food
The wings were okay, pretty usual from what you’d expect from a Chinese carry out, had a nice crisp but the rice was not good. It had a funny taste & was not at all seasoned. The yak gaw mein was not what I expected nor what I’m used to. It was very soupy & made with fettuccine noodles instead of the thick udon type. The flavor of the sauce was too sweet for my liking and clearly had a ketchup base. Also there were little too many onions.
Overall, the customer service was good but the food was not the best so I probably won’t be back.
Title: A True Hidden Gem! The Best Authentic Chinese Food in the Area.
★★★★★ (5/5 Stars)
If you’re tired of bland, cookie-cutter Chinese food and are searching for a place with real flavor and heart, you have to stop here. Tucked away in an unassuming spot, CHINA HOUSE is the definition of a “hole-in-the-wall” treasure. Forget fancy decor; the focus here is 100% on phenomenal food and wonderfully respectful service.
The Food: Classic Dishes Perfected
This is where they truly shine. They have mastered all the classic Chinese-American dishes you crave, making each one taste fresh, vibrant, and incredibly satisfying. The quality of the ingredients is obvious from the first bite.
Here’s what we ordered:
* General Tso’s Chicken: Absolutely perfect. The chicken was wonderfully crispy, even after being coated in a rich, tangy, and savory sauce that wasn’t overly sweet or gloopy like at so many other places. This is the best General Tso’s in town, hands down.
* Beef and Broccoli: The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the broccoli was fresh, vibrant green, and had the perfect crisp-tender bite. You can taste the “wok hei” – that amazing, smoky essence from a searing hot wok.
* Crab Rangoon: Golden, crispy wontons filled with a generous amount of creamy, savory filling. They were clearly made fresh and served piping hot. A must-order appetizer.
* Hot and Sour Soup: A flawless execution of a classic. It had the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and savory notes with plenty of mushrooms, tofu, and bamboo shoots.
The Service & Atmosphere: Welcoming and Efficient
The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a genuine smile. The service is incredibly polite, respectful, and efficient. It has the warm feel of a family-owned business where customers are truly valued. They are attentive without being intrusive, ensuring you have everything you need for a great meal.
