Authentic food. Not greasy and oily. Great customer service from the young man working last night. Will repeat.

I have eaten a lot of chinese in my years. But this has to be some of the worst.I have had. The bourbon chicken was dry, had been dipped in something, but it wasn’t good at all. It had no bourbon glaze on it and the rice was flat tasting. Highly disappointed!! Won’t go back. Ordered take out, got to where I was going and no plastic ware of any kind to eat with! Not even a napkin.

Our young server was excellent. Food was slow to arrive and not very good. We were the only diners at 6 on a Friday night. No tea because their “machine is broken??” Will not be eating there again.

Great value. We had takeout today, 3 quarts (orange chicken, general tso, chicken lo mein) came to about $38. Food tasted good, a little different from other places I’ve had, but we will definitely be back. The chicken was more meat than breading, which was nice. Convenient being in oak ridge.

I wish I could give them a minus 5 stars. They cooked my food in old seed oil. Overcooked the dumplins and burned one side of them all. The Egg Foo young was dark and overcooked. The corn starch gravy was nasty flavored. The meat in my Hunan Beef was stringy and chewy not velvet. The veggies were not par boiled before putting to the wok and too raw. The egg rolls looked fine but tasteless. The Won Ton Soup was flavorless. To top it all off my wife and I got headaches and sharp stomach pains within minutes after eating some of it all . We could not finish this. $52 dollars to feel sick. We will never go back to this front.

Possibly the worst food I’ve ever had. My sesame chicken looked like the rasins in Rasin Bran. The Taco Bell of Chinese Restaurants would be a compliment, but I wouldn’t wany to insult Taco Bell. I’d eat my money before I spent it at this place.

Jeff and Elaine run a wonderful little business, doing almost everything themselves. They are take-out and cash-only right now. The food is superb, and they are both very kind people. We’re lucky to have this family and their restaurant in our community!

Mixed veggies = greasy with no flavor
Wonton soup = same
Fried noodles = same
Bottled pepsi = weird option
The lady was friendly, but transaction was through weird wooden maze of openings bolted onto the door, we were not allowed inside & had to order carry out that we ate outside.
I cannot recommend this nor will I return.

My daughter and I we’re looking for some good Chinese food and happened to give China Gourmet a try. Good thing we did not give the poor reviews online much thought. Service was great. My Pad Thai was delicious. My daughter loved her orange chicken, was impressed with the presentation, and declared China Gourmet our new favourite restaurant. BTW, Duck sauce is made fresh.

This place is disappointing. Gross! Avoid it like the plague. We ate here as a family. Ordered Lo Mein, Pad Thai, Tofu and Vegetables, Egg Rolls, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and Beef with Mixed Vegetables. We paid for our food considering the time it took to make it. The waiter was nice, we left him a good tip for his service, but the food was nasty. It shouldn’t be called gourmet, but rather slop on a plate.
