Chinese standards like fried rice & chop suey served in a compact, informal space.

We tried China Garden in Jim Thorpe and were a bit disappointed with the food. We ordered chicken wings, vegetable rice, chicken fried rice, and shrimp noodles. The rice dishes were quite bland, even though we had asked for them to be spicy. The chicken wings were also too oily for our taste.
The service was fast and friendly, which we appreciated, but overall the food didn’t meet our expectations.

The staff was very friendly and respectful. The store was clean, and the bathroom was also well maintained. I ordered pork fried rice with chicken wings. It only came with three wings, which I found a bit unusual since most Chinese places typically include four, but they did add an egg roll, which made up for the missing wing.
The rice lacked flavor and was somewhat stuck together, but the chicken wings were good. Prices were very reasonable.
I ate here again a week later since I’m often in the area for work and wanted to give them another chance. The food tasted exactly the same.

Amazing Chinese food in Jim Thorpe! Definitely come for lunch as they have a super reasonable “special luncheon” where you pick a main meal, rice, and a soup for $8.75! They were quick, food was hot and tasty, and it was delicious!

We were in Jim Thorpe, a magical town, with many bars and restaurants. We walked in to enjoy some fabulous authentic chinese food. Fantastic. Joy, was very friendly and sweet. The food was excellent. We are from New York amd often eat in china town in both New York and Philadelphia. The fireplace was such a warm inviting touch as we ate. We did order food to take back to the air B&B with us. You do not need any soy sauce or duck or anything. The taste of the food was excellent. We ordered a lot for 2 people, however, it was so nice to enjoy our wine that we brought in and just relax. We were not rushed at all. It was a wonderful end to our weekend.
Thank you.

What was good, was really good. But what wasnt left a lot to be desired. The dumplings in garlic sauce were great and a must order. So was the chicken skewers. The chop suey however wasn’t quick what we were expecting or have received in the past as chop suey from other places, and the bbq pork chow fun was really really underwhelming. The noodles were over cooked and mushy, and the all over flavor just wasn’t there. I was happy to have the garlic sauce from the dumplings to spruce it up cause it needed it.
I did appreciate how late they are open though, seeing as almost everything else in the town closes at 8.

As Asian, it hard to not eat rice or noodle one day while traveling. We always seek out the local Asian spot to fulfil our craving for some rice dishes.
This is also one of the few spot that are open on weekdays as well in this area. Most restaurant only operates Thursday – Sunday.
The owner came to greet us and chatted with us for a bit. He was nice and friendly.
The food here was decent.

Our experience at China Garden, the Chinese restaurant, was truly enjoyable. We started with the sweet and sour soup, which was a perfect blend of flavors. The vegetable fried rice, shrimp fried rice, and chicken lo mein were all delicious, and each dish had its distinct taste. We were impressed with the quality and taste of the food.
Moreover, the restaurant itself had a pleasant ambiance, making our meal even more delightful. The staff was attentive, and the service was excellent. It’s safe to say that we not only loved the food but also liked the overall experience at China Garden. If you’re looking for a great Chinese dining experience, this restaurant is a fantastic choice.

China Garden boasts a friendly staff and efficient service. While the food didn’t particularly impress me, it could be that I’m not accustomed to authentic Chinese cuisine. The location is convenient, but there’s no visible Wi-Fi service, and only street-side parking is available. The ambiance is average. One notable observation is that the server appeared consistently stern, yet oddly, he seemed to brighten up when interacting with asian customers. It would enhance the overall experience if he extended that warmth to all patrons with a bit more frequent smiling.

I’ve never had such poor quality Chinese food yet. The house special lomein dish was runny, had very few pieces of chicken, came in a tiny plastic plate, and they don’t even serve water to the customers. It was supposed to be a pint portion, they served a portion that was less than half a pint. You have to buy bottled water from them. We went there only because other places were full and this place was empty and I see why it was empty.
