China Garden is my go-to spot for Chinese takeout in Branford! The food is delicious and the portions are huge! As a vegetarian, I love the availability of tofu as a protein option. General Tso’s tofu is my absolute favorite. The staff are very kind and warm too.

I’ve been coming to China Garden for a while and it’s usually pretty reliable. The food is hot, flavorful, and the portions are decent for the price. Nothing fancy, but it hits the spot when you’re in the mood for Chinese food. The staff is friendly and orders are ready on time. Overall, a good local place that I’d order from again.

I ordered General Tso’s chicken with fried rice and egg rolls, and everything was delicious! Egg rolls were crunchy and fresh. Generous portions and still hot when it arrived—definitely worth it. I’ll be ordering again soon!

The chicken fried rice is actually just rice with chicken, a few random onions and soy sauce. No egg and nothing fried about it. There is a vegetable fried rice on the menu so I thought oh maybe should’ve ordered that and added chicken? But I looked at the website again and it doesn’t give you an option to add chicken. There also is no way to put a note with your order. I usually look at the reviews and always look at the most recent one, I don’t know why I didn’t do that this time :/

The best Chinese food in the area. Boneless ribs, pork fried rice, crab rangoon, shrimp with mixed vegetables & fried wontons are excellent. The restaurant is very clean & the service is great. Everyone is so kind & helpful.

We got: shrimp egg roll, crab rangoons, hot&sour soup, beef & broccoli, shrimp in garlic sauce, moo goo gai pan, shrimp lo mien, and general Tso’s chicken.
It was all way WAY too sweet and otherwise flavorless. They used way too much cornstarch to thicken all the sauces; everything felt “goopy”
The crab Rangoons were sweet enough to be desserts. The hot&sour soup was neither hot nor sour; it was cool&bland. My two teenage sons tried the beef & broccoli and said it wasn’t very good. Then they wouldn’t eat the shrimp&garlic sauce at all!
We ate the moo goo gai pan, which was exactly as bland as it was supposed to be. That’s the dish hot sauce was made for. I ate the shrimp egg rolls, which were also bland but I wasn’t expecting much flavor to begin with.
Everyone ate the General Tso’s chicken, but it too sweet and simultaneously bland.

We have been coming to China Garden for about two years. At first, we loved it but the last two times the food was not good. We decided to try one last time last night and it was definitely the last. I went to go pick up the food and the girl at the desk was too busy on her phone to look up to acknowledge me. Several people in the kitchen saw me and said nothing to her or came out. There was an open trash can to the side of the counter with the lid open which had flies around it.
As far as the food, it was again not good. My husband said his general tso’s chicken had no flavor and the rice was dry and had a strange taste to it. The wontons in my soup had a very bad aftertaste and I ended up throwing it away. Not sure what happened to this place but we won’t be back.
