Authentic Chinese food—clean, fresh, and made with quality ingredients. You can taste the difference immediately. Even the spring rolls show how fresh the oil is by their colour. The staff and owner are absolutely amazing; they remember you and your orders, which makes every visit feel personal. My kids love the food so much that we come here at least once a week. This is the kind of place I don’t want to share with other people so that they don’t get busy!!

China Cottage is a quiet, and relaxing place to eat in which is a good thing for me! The food was delicious and cooked perfect. The sauces were so tasty. We had the Happy Family and Pork Egg Fu Young with egg rolls. Our waitress was amazing and made sure we were happy. Food servings were generous and we brought home leftovers. I have absolutely nothing negative to report about the restaurant. We will go back!

I am a snob about Chinese food, I admit it. Growing up in NYC and loving Chinese food makes me biased against most other Chinese food I’ve tried. China Cottage – a small Chinese restaurant in Hendersonville- is an exception, serving the best Chinese food I have tried in Sumner County. Kind of a hole-in-the-way place, limited seating, but comfy enough especially if you get a booth. We ordered the Pan-Fried Flounder, General Tso’s Tofu, and the Triple Delight along with a Spring Roll. Everything was excellent, well-seasoned, and well prepared. I do wish that the Triple Delight had more vegetables, but the stars of the show in that dish are the Shrimp (plump and excellent), Beef (tender), and Chicken. The Flounder is very mild and basic- deep fried in crust- but the dipping sauce and julienne garnish add excellent flavor notes for balance.
Although we live in Goodlettsville, we can easily justify China Cottage as a “destination” restaurant. You will too.

My family decided to take the hour drive to try this place, best choice ever!
We haven’t had good chinese food since leaving Long Island NY years ago. Everything here kept reminding us of those years gone by.
Amazing friendly service, fast arrival of food,helped fix a problem so quickly.
My brother asked for the general tso to be made spicy, came out good. A good spice and flavor!
This is now my family’s new year’s eve go to spot.

Food was not very good at all. I ordered General Tso chicken and the breading was very soggy. Usually the breading is crisp and doesn’t get soggy because of the sauce which leads me to believe that it was either too thinly coated or not cooked long enough. I will not be going back.

Haven’t been here in a while. Got takeout and ordered the Walnut Shrimp. It is crispier than I remembered before (which is a good thing). It was amazing. Also, this place has been consistent over the years. Props to them for staying consistent.

Great service and one of the better Chinese restaurants around. They have plenty of selections to choose on the menu. Seating is slightly limited, however they seem to be able to navigate through the busier times. I’m very thankful for this location getting added to the Hendersonville area!

It was a 1 hour drive to get there, but well worth it! I haven’t had such good Chinese cuisine since leaving Long Island N. Y. Definitely will be coming back and recommend to people. Check it out.
