BEST CHINESE NORTHERN BBQ SKEWERS! I have been to New York recently and this place was the best! The location is a bit far from Miami, but they are relocating their store soon! So delicious and the owners were very nice and friendly! I would definitely come back when I visit the area. This is the best 东北烧烤!超级无敌好吃!走过路过不要错过!

Great food, you just need to know what you want to order. No tap water, you can either bring your own water or pick what you want at the fridge (at a cost).

All things we tried in the photos are delicious and authentic (to native Chinese standard)

Expect to spend around $100 (skewers only) to $150+ (if you order seafood items) for a party of two.

Staff is friendly but they could get busy so you need to ring the bell at the cashier area to get attention for service.

We would recommend and come again.

Had a delightful dinner here. If you have ever traveled within Asia you will easily recognize the style of cooking as the ideal pairing of mouth numbing chili and savory salt that goes perfectly with a cold beer at a night market.

Most of the items fall into the category of skewers but they have a very broad collection of main dishes. Definitely get the soups and the pork dishes and don’t skip the refreshingly cold and pickled vegetables.

On a whim we tried the dumplings are were delighted to see handmade style ones very similar to what we’d get in the day markets in Taipei. I was very impressed with the flavor and for the price to value it is amazingly cheap.

Highlights were the grilled eggplant and oysters due to the sheer flavor bomb of garlic and chili that contrasted to the cumin and pepper style skewers. Will be back soon to try their other seafood dishes.

Excellent beef and lamb skewers, beef with tendon was delicious, and the chicken wing was perfect.

We were disappointed in the spicy hot dip. It was nothing more than some broth with cabbage, two sad slices of luncheon meat, a couple mushrooms, and some noodles for $15. Big disappointment.

Chinese Leek was great, but came out last and would have been great to eat with the skewers (came out first). Loved the dumplings.

We had so much food, we had to take our Pig Feet home (one order was huge). Cant wait to try it. Overall the meat on the menu is the best, but I saw they had Chinese BBQ oysters and I hope to try those another time.

Edit: the pig feet were delicious

Honestly speaking this restaurant has been on my checklist for almost a year – I was hesitant due to these bad reviews. But in the end I decided to give it a shot because it’s really rare to find an authentic Chinese Northeast restaurant in South Florida.

Some reviews are not wrong, but after knowing that it’s a small family run restaurant (only 3 people in total and they’re not young) I think it’s quite understandable that they don’t provide free ice water and no fancy decoration inside. I’m not looking for excuses for them, but I came in as the only table on a Monday afternoon and service was almost the warmest I ever had. Dishes constantly came in with no problem and I kinda like the freedom to grab different drinks by myself (check their fridge out they have traditional Chinese soy milk).

Everything here is loyal to the original Chinese Northeast taste which brought me back to the old time. Here’s my must-try list:
– Sliced house style pork
It’s always my favorite. My American friend loves it too. He said it’s like an super advanced version Orange chicken but actually pork.
– Korean cold noodles
So fresh after spicy bbq in this hot weather.
– Skewers
– sauteed potatoes, peppers and eggplants

I will definitely come back with friends in the future to try the traditional copper pot hot pot. 🙂

Where to begin? There are seven tables: two were covered with dirty dishes (for a long time), one had very cute children playing, one other table had two people putting meat (unrefrigerated) cuts onto skewers. Even after we left about 2 hours later, they were still putting the meat (it had to be warm by then) onto skewers. We sat down and tried to understand the menu. One friend of ours asked questions in Manderin for us. Many of the items we asked about from the menu were not available. The process of ordering was very unorganized and confusing. We ordered 4 items. They were served one-at-a-time over about an hour. For example, a pork dish (which was very tasty) that was supposed to come with some rice…well, after asking several times, the rice was brought out, first one small bowl, then later three others, but we had already eaten much of the pork by that time. I suggest that you call ahead so that you can pick up all the items at the same time. After waiting so long for the food, I was getting stressed out and very warm. I was tempted to go sit in my car with the A/C to wait. I won’t be back. (PS, it was also very dirty…look at the photos.)

No, this has nothing to do with culture. It has to do with cleanliness.

I wanted to try this place out, but I drove by twice in a month, they were closed. However, this place seems to be doing new renovations. Passed by and they had a hiring sign. Then looked online, seems they’re rebranding to YGF Malatang, opening September 10.
