The food was not bad! It had flavor. The rice was amazing but the Lomain had no flavor to it. Little things me and my husband noticed. The waiter was working hard and very kind to return my phone that I left in side the restaurant . I was a bit upset that the host did not communicate with us. Only walked to a table making me more confused.

Chef King was packed so we decided to eat here. I ate one plate of food and I needed a refill on my soda by the time I finished. My partner had two plates of food and still had no refill. They brought the check and grabbed the empty plates, saw we needed refills and chose not to bring us any. So when we went up to pay I asked “Do you guys give refills here?” And the lady rudely goes “Yeah!” and I said “Well we didn’t get any refills.” And she just ignores it and gives us our change back. So rude. Will not be returning. 0/10 don’t recommend. This is why Chef King is superior.

I took my pregnant wife here because she was craving Chinese and her favorite place (Chef King) is closed on Tuesdays. It was an overall unpleasant experience. The staff was rude and dismissive. The floors were dirty and the food was cold. The only thing I enjoyed here was the watermelon. And even the watermelon had a peculiar texture. DO NOT COME HERE! Just go to the Chef King on the other side of town. It was so bad she started crying in the restaurant. We left after only a few bites. “The Mongolian beef was mushy yet somehow chewy at the same time” according to my wife. She said the egg rolls tasted weird and so did the cantaloupe. We will NOT be returning!

Absolutely awful!!! My husband and I decided to give this restaurant one more try, and we will never go back. The several of the buffet items tasted as if there was a chemical in them. Wontons we’re no doubt old as they had a distinct smell that was overwhelming. No complaints on the service or the cleanliness only that the food was awful.

China Buffet in Marshalltown has really good food. Everything I’ve tried tastes great, the meat is cooked well, the sauces are flavorful, and the fried rice is solid. Their egg rolls and General Tso Chicken are my favorites. The staff is also super nice, which makes the whole experience even better. Just good food and good people.

I went here to get dinner with my boyfriend and there were flies everywhere. The food had been sitting out for longer than it should be. We didnt even finish 1 plate and told the workers about our stomachs hurting from their food and we only got 5$ off of our meals. Still paid 28$. Do not go here it is NOT sanitary, and the food does not taste good.

The people who run this restaurant are fantastic!! My family and I always enjoy it. The sushi is good, especially for what you’d normally expect at a buffet!!! The rest of the food is good too. It’s decent size buffet has and plenty of options for entrées and desserts!
