So to start with, I ordered the calamari that comes with red sauce. The calamari was extremely undercooked to the point where it doesn’t seem like it’s safe to eat and secondly, the red sauce is just ketchup who serves calamari with ketchup that’s disgusting and not worth $10. Then I got the side of fried rice, which was nothing more than just rice no carrots, no peas no egg just regular brown rice not worth 8.99. And for my main dish, I ordered beef with garlic. All the veggies were undercooked the broccoli doesn’t even taste like they tried to cook. It just tasted like they threw it in there. That carrots were a semi cooked, but not completely. The beef was all right. It wasn’t overcooked, but it wasn’t undercooked. It was just regular. That was the only thing they got correct. This is my second time getting food from here and my first experience wasn’t great either but we won’t go there. This mean was definitely not worth 30!!! And yes that’s how my calamari came to me. It literally looks like somebody chewed it up and spit it back out. I will definitely not be returning or ordering again.. I tried to call to talk to a manager was put on hold for 20min then someone picked up and instantly hung up the phone before I could get a word in. I wish Boerne had a decent Chinese restaurant.

Wayyyy overpriced for the portion size. When I called they said the dinner entree will feed 2 or more people. Portion looks like an appetizer for a $17 dollar dish. All the beef dishes were tough and chewy. I ordered the Mongolian beef and sichuan beef and couldn’t chew through the beef. I’ve never had tough beef at a Chinese place. It was a Saturday at 6 pm the place was absolutely empty. This should have been my sign to run. But I placed my order which was $82 and Panda Express is better than this place.

It’s decent for Chinese food and reasonably priced. Staffs always friendly and the restaurant is always clean. The fish tanks pretty neat with the little sharks in it. Lots of seating, booths are comfy.

Awesome classic Chinese fare with great service. We can in on a clown night before close, got great service, bonus wonton chips and sauce, and some of the best orange chicken I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Better than Shang-Hai in Boerne. China Bowl is consistent on flavor and quality. Shang-Hai was good in the beginning but something changed. China Bowl also has lunch, early bird and dinner specials. Can’t go wrong with a $10 lunch that has pretty decent portions.

Two years ago this was the best place in Boerne for oriental food , however last 3 times have been very disappointing.
Food is loaded with oil to the point of almost being unedible. I tried 3 times and 3 different dishes in case it was an off day or a new cook – but it’s obvious it’s how they are cooking now.

First and last time here. Started out promising, but the wonton In the wonton soup was so dense it became chewy and gummy. The beef(?)egg rolls had some sort of gray meat instead. When I asked the waitress what was in them, she reached across me to grab my knife only to cut the other egg roll in half to show me more gray meat that was “ground beef”. The kids Lo mein tasted horrible. Like it was out of a can. Slimy noodles that resembled spaghetti o’s. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is the orange chicken was decent according to my daughter.

Maybe this place was once good (because I can’t believe anyone that gave it 5 stars) but having recently ordered, it was awful. Ordered pan fried noodles and the noodles were disgusting. I can’t even describe the odd taste, but it looked undercooked and didn’t taste like noodles at all. My husband said their was imitation crab and joked how it was definitely imitation all right. Basically, the whole plate wasn’t edible. Chicken lettuce wraps…not confident it was even chicken, so gross. The fried rice was bland. I won’t eat from here again even if they offered it for free.
