China Blossom in Andover is an absolute gem! Our experience was made even more memorable by our fantastic bartender, Raymond. He went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable evening. Raymond was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, letting us try new items and generously offering samples. His recommendations were spot on, and each drink was crafted to perfection. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the service was top-notch. If you’re looking for a place with great food, drinks, and exceptional service, China Blossom is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Went for dinner buffet. There was a price increase from last time which rounded off to between 15-20%.
It was crowded, but the employees and service was good. The food selection was good but in the rear two options disappeared. This was odd since I liked them and because of the price increase. I didn’t like that you couldn’t ask for which cut of prime rib you wanted. That is suspect customer service.

In the front there were three stations for food. The selections were good. On the side there were several trays of cake. At least one was almost empty. There was a fridge with ice creams but I saw only one scoop.

Further on, I saw some soup in the corner. The items in the stations were clearly marked.

The drink I had was terrible, but they were kind enough to take it off the bill.

I think what offended me the most is the suggested tips that started at 18% and that I believe excluded the tax and moved to 20% and 22%. I have been to hundreds if not thousands of restaurants and never saw the suggested baseline tip that high.

And these suggested tips were for a buffet not a meal!

The dinning area was dark and bland, but still comfortable.

Overall the restaurant experience was average, nothing stood out as exceptional.

Next time, I am going to try the menu rather than a buffet that cos $22.95 a person.

I still recommend this restaurant, but I wanted to inform of my opinion.

Good luck

Our family’s “go-to” when it comes to take-out. Best Chinese food around, hands down! Dined in for the first time and was blown away with how spacious and well decorated their interior is. On a Saturday evening around 6-630, we were 1 of 2 parties dining in… great time to stop in!

Nice clean big place drinks were good but I wanted to order a combination plates and they only have them for lunch for dinner it’s either 29.99 buffet or seperate things I ended up just having my drink and leaving I was told if I sat at the bar I could order combination plate which made no sense

Food was bland and tasteless. Overly packed for a buffet that cost $35 and not much variety. Cocktail shrimp was probably the on sale size from market basket. Over all went to see the hype and was not impressed . You can do better. And prime rib over cooked and such a thin slice. Sorry but China buffet much cheaper and more variety to choose from. Food looked great don’t let that fool you but it was not good at all

Positives:
This place offers buffet, sit down menu, and full bar. The quality of the food out on the buffet area is superior compared to other typical Americanized Chinese buffets and take out places. It offered the typical food you find at Chinese buffets and some sushi. Unusual good additions to the buffet are crab legs, peking duck, and prime rib steak.

Negatives:
The price is a little higher than other Chinese buffets, but that’s balanced out with the better food quality. The type of food is Americanized Chinese, so it’s not what you would find at traditional restaurants you might find at a china town.

The verdict:
My go to place when I’m in the mood for Chinese buffet, and love how I can eat all the peking duck I want. Personally don’t know of a better Chinese buffet than here.

A fantastic gathering place for groups celebrating big milestones! What a beautiful and historic venue! China Blossom has a really nice bar area if you just want to get a quick drink and bite to eat, a sit down place to bring the family, and multiple banquet rooms to host large gatherings. A friend of ours was celebrating her graduation party. She needed a place big enough for her family and many friends. China Blossom allowed us to decorate the room, they had AV equipment that enabled her to show a slideshow, and they offered extra lighting to brighten certain areas where we needed extra illumination. Our party mainly opted for the delicious dinner buffet they were serving that evening. The prime rib was the star of the show! It was tender and juicy. I couldn’t believe I could cut it with just my fork! They have everything you could want from shrimp, crab legs, chicken and beef dishes to broccoli and green beans. Custom dishes were made for those with food allergies and dietary restrictions. A self-serve ice cream and pastry station was a welcome addition too! Our server Laura had worked there for decades and was so incredibly gracious and welcoming. She recommended the White Mai Tai and Scorpion. The White Mai Tai was one of the best mixed drinks I’ve had in quite some time. Be careful if you are driving because all the drinks are full strength, taste great and give a powerful kick. It seems like some of the, “regulars” already know about this gem. The staff knew the first names of multiple guests who were dining in, getting take-out, or heading off to the bar. If you dine here enough you will be treated like family! The history of the restaurant dates way back to the 60″s. They have some fun old photos near the entrance that show how the restaurant was before the recent remodel. Our server said the restaurant has been in the same family for many generations so the quality and consistency remain excellent. They kept some aspects of the old restaurant through the ceiling tiles and classic furniture. I would give China Blossom a 5 star rating! When I’m in the area I will definitely be coming back here again and again!

Only one complaint, the waiter removed my granddaughter dish without authorization, with food in it.

I changed my service rating from 5 to 3. My first experience at this restaurant was on Saturday and everything was perfect. Food & service. I went back on a Monday and it was a different experience. Perhaps new staff. No drinks were served after 15 minutes waiting until I went to the front desk host. (Only 4 tables occupied in the entire restaurant and the bar was empty). The drinks were warm and ice melted, which tells me the bar tender did their job on time but the waiter left the drinks standing. Table utensils were scares. No straw for drink, no knife at one seating, no fork at another. We had to ask for everything. The food was still good but did not match the flavor and presentation of my Saturday visit. One item was orange flavored chicken which was cooked perfectly, but no flavor, no spice like a good orange chicken. Waiter gets 1 star, host gets 5 stars. The restaurant is very clean.
