The lady who took my order was rude, rice was hard & tasted old… I asked for the appetizer order of egg rolls which shows it comes with 2. She said “it’s only 1” “only 1 comes with the appetizer order” so I told her never mind. she didn’t give me a spoon for my wonton soup, and lady gave me attitude when I asked for chili sauce. Came here because a coworker recommended it and said the guy is really nice and the food is good. But i do NOT recommend .

Upon giving this location another chance due to being short on time. I have reevaluated my review and increased the rating by two stars. We ordered three dinners. A General Tso Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, Grab Rangoon, and Pan Fried Dumplings. All with fried rice. The primary ingredients to each dish seemed a little less than average. Almost as if the chicken was prepackaged not made fresh. There was very few shrimp in the Lo Mein. While the crust for the Crab Rangoon tasted stale. However, and this is a big however. The sauces for each of the dishes was extremely flavorful. Provided in ample amounts. Making even the most mediocre of vegetable or meat taste amazing. The portions were slightly larger than on our previous visit. With all the food being hot. While I can’t give them five stars. I can honestly give them four due to cost vs value. For a quick, decent Chinese take out night. When you don’t feel like or have the time to drive elsewhere. China 1 is definitely a good alternative.

Hear me for some real TRUTH. This is more than likely the best place in Highlands to eat fried wings. The owner seasons them himself (with maybe a little bit of extra salt) but , all the same their probably the best you’ll find. His recipe is filled with flavor! Now, B4 you current customers decide that you don’t want to adhere to the price increases that China 1 has had to introduce since 7/2022, please consider how much the owner must have to figure into his menu budget these days. Everything has escalated in price this year. It’s really understandable that China 1 is also having to readjust some things. I’ve decided to readjust to accommodate my budget in many unimaginable areas. To continue to indulge in China 1 and those fantastic wings, I have just put my family on a schedule for when we will eat out there, preferably on pay dates. This way, we stay on budget whiles continuing to enjoy the great wings, egg rolls, and house fried rice(that we LOVE)from this neighborhood eatery that has done nothing but delicious things in the mouth!! Consider this, to avoid depriving your taste buds of the meals here and to continue having our Highlands small business with great tastes at our door step. It’s easy to see how a company can get pinned against the wall in trying to keep their doors open. So, we are going to modify and keep on catching up! To learn more on the state of the economy for Harris county, Texas… Simply, stay in touch with me. Thank you,

Fantastic! They delivered to my truck parked over here at the TA. Ordered orange chicken, pork fried rice, egg rolls and won ton soup. Everything came out delicious! Really fresh and on point! We were very satisfied with our dinner and the quick delivery time, the driver was friendly and came with a big smile! Would most definitely order from them again when we come back this way.

Place was hot, filthy and smelled bad! Their son was in the lobby playing games on his phone , and he seemed so bothered to help out…food was hot but not good at all! I honestly want my money back but I’ll just never visit again!

Outstanding neighborhood restaurant with amazing food. Service is always fast and friendly and the prices are beyond fair for the amount of food received. I will continue to order from here for years to come.

Food was not good at all and a bit pricey for what we got. Paid $18 just for orange chicken and lo mein combination. I personally don’t think it was worth that price and would be better off going to Panda Express. Chicken tasted old and soggy. Lo mein had a weird smell and just had no taste.

I was craving Chinese food and this was the closest restaurant nearby. The smell that greeted me when I walked in should have been enough to tell me to leave. It smelled of old standing water. But, I told myself to give the benefit of the doubt and give them a try. As I was ordering I noticed the restaurant was pretty dirty and needed several repairs. Again, I should have just stopped ordering and left. I didn’t. I ordered a lunch special of General Tso’s Chicken with fried rice, an egg roll, and hot and sour soup. The chicken was not fresh, however the vegetables were. They were bright and healthy looking. The rice had a spoiled smell. Unfortunately, the egg roll smelled the same, spoiled. The hot and sour soup was so very dark and thick and looked overall unpleasant. I wasn’t sure what was in it due to its unfamiliar appearance. I did taste everything and just had an overwhelming feeling to not eat it. Sadly, I had to throw my meal out as my gut was warning not to consume the food. I had a coworker smell everything as well before throwing it out just to make sure I wasn’t being dramatic. I mistakenly read the reviews after getting my food. Which I ALWAYS read the reviews before going anywhere new. I hope they can improve as they are the only Chinese restaurant in the area. They have an opportunity to be successful.

Was going to put 5 stars because delivery guy was so sweet and all smiles plus the food looked great in the container. Man I took one bite of my shrimp fried rice, no exaggerating it taste like it was dug out of the trash. So fckn strange tasting no lie! I tried forcing myself to eat more but the thought of where it possibly came from, cooked in, and the smell of it as I took a bite had me so done! The drink which was in a bottle was the only good thing. I had to wash that taste down with the drink smh
