Beautiful food. I had the opportunity to try the breakfast sandwich and chillito, and both were oozing awesomeness.
This is not a place where you will be served immediately, and depending on the backlog, waiting can go up to an hour – but the wait is totally worth it, cause the owner duo make the food with real passion!

Delicious especially on Sundays when they have biscuits but the chilitos are always fire!

Finally got around to checking out Meats and Foods and let me tell you that was a mistake. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese and it did not disappoint. This seems like a simple order but it is easy to mess up. They nail the balance between the ingredients. I’d rank this sandwich among the best I’ve had.
This is a small place but it is warm and inviting. The owners are friendly and inviting.
There is a bit of a wait but I think it’s worth it. It’s worth checking out.

Cozy little shop with homemade food that is worth the wait. If you don’t order ahead, waits can exceed one hour on the weekend. But if there are seats available, get some coffee and wait in the cute interior decorated with succulents and Garfield memorabilia. The handmade flour tortillas and hot sauce are fantastic. Sundays feature biscuits that you can get for breakfast sandwich on.

The best small business in DC serving up tasty food. Anna and Scott are the best. The only time I get sad is when I’m craving a chilito mid week and realize I have to wait.

Definitely go early! The crispy potato egg and cheese sandwich was so good. The bread was soft and the cheese was perfectly melted! Highly recommend although they do get busy, so get there as close to opening as possible.

Meats and Foods is the best local eatery and I cannot wait for their return. They make so much in house and provide such an amazing and high quality product. I’m not sure how folks here can criticize these amazing restauranteurs. I love their vibes. If you like spicy chili, get it with their house made jalapeños, if you wanna call to order or don’t have time for a brief wait, then this is probably not the establishment for you. This isn’t McDonald’s. These folks care, and their foods leaves me feeling happy and well. Thank you for sharing your craft with our community ❤️

I have been looking forward to trying this place for so long. I went online to order ahead because I’ve heard it can be a wait on weekends. The online ordering was unavailable as of 11am. I decided to walk there and there were three couples sitting down eating. One person was ahead of me waiting. I ordered a single chilito and he said it would be 20 mins. No worries, I was in the restaurant biz I know they probably had to make fresh chili or do some online orders. I asked if I could run across the street and come right back. I came back within 5 minutes and proceeded to wait at the counter for 35 additional minutes while I watched two couples who had walked in well after me get served. I walked to the counter and waited to ask the guy the status of my order. It had been ready on the back counter. I asked if I was supposed to come get it, because others around me all had their food brought to them. He said he didn’t see me. Did he not see me or did he not care to look? The place is the size of a storage unit and he looked up into my vicinity multiple times to see people walking through the front door. The vibes were just bad here overall and he seemed to hate being there. This always happens with DC food places when they blow up. They think they can treat customers however. The chili was not worth the weird experience at all and I hope you appreciated the tip bud. ❤️

Really good. Walk in and smell fresh sausage and bacon being fried. Small place with about 8 counter seats. Take a bunch home for dinner. Dont forget the chili
