Just ate at the New Tampa Chili’s and had a great experience! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and there were plenty of TVs showing all kinds of sports. Great neighborhood spot to relax, eat, and catch a game!
We were there to celebrate my friend’s birthday. She had a stroke last year that affected her speech, and we simply wanted to enjoy a few drinks and have a nice evening. Unfortunately, the staff completely ruined the experience.
Our waiter was rude and inconsiderate from the start. One of the drinks was made incorrectly and brought out without the proper topping. When my friend politely mentioned it, nothing was done to correct it. To make matters worse, she later noticed the server mimicking her speech. That behavior was incredibly disrespectful and hurtful.
When the waiter returned to our table, she had a sassy attitude and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. No one should be treated that way, especially when simply trying to celebrate a special occasion.
This was not just poor service — it was a lack of basic compassion and professionalism. I truly hope management addresses this situation, because no customer should ever feel mocked or disrespected.
the moment we walked in, the customer service was unacceptable.

There were about 10 guests total, and at least half of us were waiting to be acknowledged. Having backgrounds in hospitality, we’re very understanding of a Friday rush, but as the minutes passed with no greeting or acknowledgment, frustration set in — not just for us, but for other waiting patrons as well.
Behind the bar was a younger brunette bartender working the service well, showing little sense of urgency and spending time casually flirting with what appeared to be a man-child manager in a purple shirt. The other bartender, an older gentleman, seemed outwardly overwhelmed, though during our wait we only observed him open a Corona and make a margarita. At one point he ripped his earpiece out and shook his head, which didn’t inspire much confidence.
When he finally greeted us, he asked for our drink order, despite us never being offered menus. We ordered two margaritas. As he worked on the tabletop POS system, he rolled his eyes and muttered under his breath, seemingly irritated while toying with the system. He appeared upset that we had logged in, I assumed that was part of its purpose — but perhaps that makes me the “stupid patron.”
Given the clear lack of professionalism, urgency, and overall awareness from the bartenders — one appearing overwhelmed by the basics of the job and the other more focused on personal interaction — we decided it was best to leave.
We absolutely love Chili’s Fowler and will happily return there, but this location felt more like a bad episode of Love Island than a functioning restaurant.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
