Chilis is always randomly closed at Western. It’s kind of its claim to fame. That, and Steak n’ Shake. May the French fries treat you well.

I’ve never actually come here and eaten a full meal despite being a student on WCU’s campus for two years. We finally decided to try it out after finding out about the “3 for me” special, which comes with a drink, appetizer, and entree for $10.99 (or more depending on which entree you get). I got blackberry iced tea for my drink, baked potato soup for my appetizer, and the crispy chicken sandwich as my entree. Oh my gosh, it was a lot of food! My partner and sister both got the chips and salsa, and it was a full-size appetizer, so we went home with a lot of chips and salsa. The blackberry iced tea was delicious and very sweet. The loaded baked potato soup was interesting and tasted very strongly of queso. The chicken sandwich was HUGE. It was delicious and juicy. The french fries were good, too! Our server was Jiah, who was super sweet and attentive! The “3 for me” special is an amazing deal, especially given that the entree I chose came with a side. It’s a lot of food that can last several meals. This location was great and the food came out very quickly after we ordered. I would definitely recommend this place.

Got a plate of the ribs to go, with the Southwestern Eggrolls. Ribs were very peppery, to the point of being inedible. Southwestern egg rolls were ok, nothing great. It’s an on-campus Chili’s, so it’s exactly what you should expect. Also FYI they don’t take Chili’s gift cards, or at least didn’t when I was there.

I try to be very understanding of this Chili’s. I get that most of them are students but I’ve issues multiple times with them either not giving me a part of my order that should be included or skimping out on me when I make to go orders. A cup of salsa is supposed to be included when you order the skillet queso. Most of the workers here are apparently unaware of that, although I will say that when I came back to get my salsa the manager was very kind. I ordered two bowls of chili last night though and there was barely anything in the cup at all. I’m very disappointed and there is obviously a lot to be improved at this location.

Service was TERRIBLE! We waited an hour for our food, were not checked on except once, and our orders came out wrong. The food was warm, almost as if it had been sitting for a while. We had around 6 people come in after us and they got their meals WAY before us. We had sent one of our meals back to have it corrected and it came out wrong AGAIN. Also, we were told that they were out of nachos and quesadilla but yet the people who came in after us received BOTH of those things and we have yet to received chips and salsa.

We waited an hour for our food for it to come out lukewarm. Two out of four of our meals were wrong and one we sent back and it came out wrong AGAIN! We were told their was no nachos or quesadillas so we never received the initial chips and salsa that comes out as soon as you arrive, yet everyone that came in after us got chips and their food before us. We haven’t been checked on but once the entire time we were waiting. We haven’t been given refills even when we called the waitress over to fix our meals. This is ridiculous and this facility needs to get reality checked by the school. Oh and the phones been ringing non stop for 30 minutes.

Such terrible service. Probably the worst I’ve ever received at a restaurant. The waitress could care less about us. We waited for 25 minutes after getting drinks (a wait for them too) for her to take our order and she only took it then because I called her over to us. She had told us they could only fry fries and chicken crisper- nothing else. I ordered the meal that you got an appetizer, drink and meal. I upgraded for the dip trio and got the steak. I never received the chips and chips, and was charged extra for my drink (non alcoholic). I ordered my steak medium rare, it came out very well done. Someone else had to bring the food out (there is no telling how long it sat back in the kitchen). It was an older gentleman and he went to get us silverware, steak sauce and refilled our drinks- I’m thankful for him. From the time we sat down to the time we left was 5 minutes shy of 2 hours. It was just an expensive bad experience. It was $68. and some change before tip. For 2 adults and 2 kids. Oh they also charged extra for a side they offer for kids, (we wanted mac and cheese for the entree- out, and oranges-out) but we were so tired of being there we didn’t want to wait any longer just to continue being ignored. The hostess was nice and gentleman that tried to help some once he realized she was not helping us was nice. Just a disappointment.

Every time I go to this place it’s a bad experience. One time I had to wait forever for food. Today I ordered the bottomless soup, salad, and chip/salsa meal as I usually do. The waitress charged me separately for the salad and chips —- the total was $21.70 for a meal that usually costs $10. She wouldn’t fix it either and didn’t seem to understand how the bottomless lunch wasn’t just bottomless soup. I’m not coming back —- tired of having to train college students while eating in the restaurant.

Three stars is a stretch, but I will let difficulty in keeping staff be the excuse and rate higher. Service was mediocre as well as food. And this location will not accept gift cards. There are far better restaurants nearby to give my business.

took 15 minutes for our drinks, another 10 minutes for our order to be taken, 20 minutes for the appetizer and another 25 for cold food. seemed to be a theme among the servers. waitress was hailey. four top got seated, served, and left after getting there 15 minutes after us. also… there was only 2 of us.

Some friends and I went a few weeks ago and the food was good but did take some time to get to us. Our waitress explained that the kitchen was short staffed so we completely understood. She did her best to accommodate us with the wait time and was very personable. When our food did come out she used a tray which ended up with the manager getting fussy with her for setting the tray on the table beside us. Completely understand where the manager was coming from but her frustration should not have been shown in front of guests. We could tell it made our server embarrassed. There’s always a time and place for things and it’s not the first time we’ve seen the manager correct the servers in front of customers instead of behind closed doors. Everyone makes mistakes but it’s hard to watch a manager get frustrated with servers in front of guests.
