Chili Chutney was absolutely incredible! From the moment I walked in, the place had such a cool and vibrant atmosphere — the colorful lighting and modern decor gave it a lively, upscale vibe that stood out right away. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and packed with people enjoying their meals, which is always a good sign.

I tried several dishes, including their freshly made flatbread, salad, mantu, and kabuli pulao, and everything was packed with flavor. You could tell the ingredients were fresh, and the food was cooked with care. The presentation was great too — every dish came out hot and looked appetizing.

The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure everything was on point throughout the meal. It’s clear this place takes pride in both their food and service. Whether you’re coming for a casual dinner or a nice night out, Chili Chutney is worth it. Easily one of the best Afghan restaurants I’ve been to — five stars all the way.

This is a great halal Afghani food option in the south Orange County, CA area.

There is one go to dish that I usually get.

It’s the Boneless chicken with beef koobideh combo. The meat is tender and juicy and delicious.

For a little extra you can substitute with half rice
and half salad, rather than get a plate full of rice.

I also usually get the sheer chai tea. It’s sweet with a nice cardamom flavor.

My three other options that I sometimes get are:

1. Beef and chicken koobideh combo with half rice and half salad.

2. Boneless chicken kabob with half rice and half salad.

3. Beef shish kabob with half rice and half salad.

Bonus:
Lighting in here is amazing.
Restrooms are really clean!
Would love some paper towels in there though instead of just an air blower.

Beef chapli Kabop or Kebap my favorite ..very distinct and original flavor …

Not a Persian like or Turkish nor Indian like flavor … but can say that a very rich in flavors…

I ordered catering for a group of students and they all liked it .. it comes with rice and green and red chutney and best combination with Must-O- hiyar … or ( cacik )

Good opportunity to charge myself with some healthy food while charging my EV just at the front of restaurant … it is a Tesla Super Charger site …

This is a unfortunate turn off events. Before the ownership transfer this place was great! However currently after the ownership transfer it’s basically dreadfully bad! . The chicken kabob was literally caked in butter . Witch leaves you with this disgusting butter filling in your throat. The menu is utterly ugly! We’re is the management all the menu’s are breaking apart or just in need of repair! During my dinner experience one of my forks had black stuff on it talk about sanitary. Are table had no number sad can’t even get that right. The gentleman keep saying number 17 but there was no table with 17 . Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place! it’s not worth your money there are better and clearer with better tasting food. Don’t pay $19.99 – $59.99 for food that you can make better at home!

First time going to this restaurant and we loved it. It was very authentic and delicious. We tried the Kaboli Polu, Mix Bolani, and beef chapil kabob. The service was fast and the portions were big. The price was reasonable too. The only issue that I would have is the ventilation inside the restaurant was not good, I would suggest to the management to improve air exchange in the restaurant or add more hoods in the kitchen. I did not mind this issue but I could see other patrons have issue with this. I would definitely go back to try the other dishes.

It’s a Pakistani restaurant in an orange county by the irvine Spectrum although more like Afghani food. Everything on the menu is Halal. I liked the food &the customer service. Malik was very welcoming and he often checked on us if we needed anything.. He mentioned that once in a while he host singers from Pakistan to perform. It was pretty nice to know that he did a great job in taking care of us. I would recommend this store for those who R looking 2have a taste of both Pakistan & Afghani

Meals should begin with an amazing spread of ashak ($14.95). While vegetarians might initially be attracted to these boiled leek dumplings, do note that these are smothered in a tomato-based sauce that includes ground beef and lentils. If you can eat meat, they are phenomenal. The dumplings and sauce are covered with a generous portion of yogurt and parsley, a combination of flavors that is intense and wonderful.

Located inside a quiet plaza. Plenty of free self parking. Also, there are Tesla chargers if you need to charge.

Nice interior decoration.
Friendly service.
Food is very tasty.
Lots of Afghani people eat there so it must be authentic.

Very reasonable prices and portions.

Was there for Ramadan iftar buffet. $30/adult $20/children

The simplest way I can say about this restaurant is that you’ll be waiting long for your food but it is delicious. The dishes are packed well and tasty. I’ll make sure when I come back, I’ll order ahead of time instead of walking in and ordering.
