Everyone is kind and attentive there. The atmosphere is average. The food though.. So the lunch concept is an interesting combination of a Mexican a la carte menu or an Indian buffet. I tried both, and neither work. I was in a rush for lunch, so I choose the buffet. I didn’t even realize the buffet served Indian food until I went up there. The usual dishes were there (minus the raita, pickles, and chutneys), but they seemed less vibrant looking. I thought maybe that was the case because I’m used to seeing these dishes presented inside an Indian restaurant, which is typically ornately decorated, classy, and well lit, rather than a darker bar-like atmosphere. So I got the stuff anyway. Had to order the naan separately. While they prepared the naan, I tried all the dishes at the buffet. Each worse than the last. Some were just bland, others almost tasted like incompletely rinsed dishes. The garlic naan came out looking and tasting excellent, with the huge difference in quality implying that the naan was probably just frozen naan bought from Patel Bros and then merely reheated. They were gracious enough to not charge me for it when I requested a burrito al pastor instead. Unfortunately, that was very bland, as many other reviewers have stated, and was mostly rice. I hate to clown on a local restaurant, but there are so many better options. I hope this place learns to master at least one cuisine, even if they can’t master both. Right now they’re like the 4 of diamonds of all trades and master of none

Amazing. I love the concept it’s perfect for people who can’t decide which they’d prefer more tonight- Mexican or Indian food. And both are great. Isabella and the other staff were very attentive and kind. The buffet has a great assortment and a price that can’t be beat. Great vibes and awesome food. So come eat!!

Got carry out from there tonight, we tipped for the carry out got all the way home and they didn’t include the guac we paid for so had to go back to get it. There were no customers in there on Friday night. I don’t see how they are still open. The fajitas just come with rice and beans no extras. The shrimp had tails on in the fajitas and there were extra shrimp tails in there. The street tacos were dry. I don’t think the food was worth the money we spent we won’t go back which makes me sad. I’ve tried both their Indian and Mexican food and neither was very good. Makes me sad.

I should have known something was off with this restaurant because when my husband and I walked in on a Sat night around 7pm, there was literally only 1 customer dining in who was sitting at the bar. That’s odd for a weekend dinner night. I would atleast expect more than 1 person in the entire restaurant on a Sat night.
The 1st issue started when we ordered the meal and a side of beans. The waitress told us the beans were black, which is what we wanted. When we received the order, the beans were dry refried beans. I asked the waitress, I thought you said the beans are black. She proceeded to apologize and tell us the beans are refried and that we could pay and order black beans. We told her we are not paying for another side of beans that we originally asked for and paid for. It was their mess up, not ours. So then the waitress told us she will get us a side of black beans without charging us.

Strike 2 – I decided after my order was placed that i wanted to order an extra taco, I gave the waitress my card and she told me their card swipper is not working anymore (it worked for my original order). She asked if I have a different card, I said no and gave her cash. The extra taco cost $4 and some change. I gave the waitress $5 bill and she kept my change without telling me. I asked for my change and she told me that the Restaurant keeps cusotmer’s change and said its customary and all restaurants follows this same standard. I definitely never experienced a restaurant keeping anyone change and not mentioning it to them. I used to be a server and never done this.

Strike 3 – The food didnt even taste good! The beans were bland and the taco meat was super bland.
We will never eat or get takeout from this place again! It was our 1st and last time!

I typically don’t leave reviews but I feel obligated to leave one for others who might be thinking of dining in the establishment. When I think Indian and Mexican food, I think flavorful and spicy. I had the buffet and a taco from the menu because there wasn’t Mexican food on the buffet as advertised. Both the buffet and the taco were beyond bland. I literally had to put salt on every item I tried from the buffet and it was still bland. I thought the taco would be the saving grace but NO. It was gritty and again, very bland. The waitress only came to the table to take our order and that was it. I actually had to go to the bar to ask for my check and only then did she actually bus our table. This place is WAY overpriced for what you get. Don’t be fooled by the pictures on their website and don’t waste your money.

We turned to Chile Verde for a menu that would include both Mexican and Indian dishes for a volunteer thank you party. We were holding for volunteers who helped the St. Petersburg international folk fair Society have a successful event in February.

Everything Chile Verde provided was delicious and not a single bite was left by the time our gathering was over.

Thank you again, Chile Verde!

Have I not reviewed Chili Verde? Wow! Somehow this Mexican restaurant has the best Indian buffet in Pinellas. Their food is phenomenal, and the Mexican offerings on the buffet are good as well. But their crown jewel is their naan. It’s made to order, is crispy, moist, and incredibly flavorful. Maybe the best naan I’ve ever had. But, you have to wait for it and they kind of don’t like to make you a second order of it (you can tell). Anyway, you’d never expect a Mexican restaurant to have good Indian food but it’s such a delight. A little pricey, but worth it if you’re a fan of Indian food. Would highly recommend.
