Brother and sister duo, Marlem Power and Abraham Ramos were born and raised in Mexico City. As Chilangos, they immigrated to Canada, and their love for cooking gave them the opportunity to represent Mexico in 2011, at the Belleville Waterfront and Ethnic Festival. Their Mexican cuisine was greatly accepted by the community. Their catering experience gave them the opportunity to share the traditional flavours of Mexico City in many locally catered events in the Quinte region. And now, Marlem and Abraham look forward to sharing their family recipes with the community all year round. Enjoy!

Chilangos Mexican Restaurant was an absolute gem and a perfect stop after a long drive.
We ordered the Quesabirria Tacos, Steak Fiesta Bowl, Pozole, and a Jamaica drink — and every single item exceeded expectations. The pozole, in particular, was outstanding. I initially ordered it simply because I was feeling cold and wanted something warm, but it turned out to be so much more than just a comforting soup. It was deeply flavorful, satisfying, and genuinely memorable.
The quesabirria tacos and the fiesta bowl were both excellent — rich, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. A special mention must go to the sauces served with the crispy chips — that combination alone was a “wow” moment.
What truly elevated the experience was the service. We arrived very close to closing time after several hours on the road, yet the staff were incredibly warm, patient, and welcoming. They never rushed us and made us feel genuinely cared for, which meant a lot after a long day of driving.
This restaurant is an absolute recommendation. In my personal list, it easily ranks among the top three restaurants I’ve experienced in the Greater Toronto area, and without question, the best Mexican cuisine I’ve had here.
We’ll definitely be back.

My partner and I went around 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon for an early dinner so it was very quiet with only a few tables seeming more intimate. The drinks were delicious, apps and meals came appropriately timed apart, hot and delicious! The portions are huge! Our Server Wyatt was extremely prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely an amazing experience for a low key early dinner date.

We had a really good experience at Chilangos in Belleville. I was pleasantly surprised by how gluten-friendly the menu was — appetizers, mains, and even dessert, which was a nice bonus. Service was quick, meals came promptly and nicely spaced between courses. Portions were generous, and everything tasted great. The live Mexican music was a nice touch and added to the overall vibe. The staff were friendly, our server was patient and knowledgeable and there was a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere in general. Would happily go back.

Loved the ambience , food was ok, ordered tacos and fiesta bowl, chicken in the fiesta bowl was overcooked. The ambience felt like an authentic Mexican restaurant with live music. Cocktails were fantastic.

A delightful surprise right off the highway in Belleville. It looks like a chain restaurant inside a strip mall, but it’s not. It’s a spacious, wonderful, family-run Mexican treat. Menu offers lots of Mexican options, food, drinks and desserts. Chips and pico de gallo were a yummy starter. The chorizo tacos with hot salsa were delicious! The margarita and chocolate cake were also great! I will be back here the next time I pass by Belleville!

Stopped in for the first time yesterday. It was around 7 and the place was bustling. It’s def a family restaurant very loud with chants of happy birthday across the restaurant.
We got a flight of margaritas and Birria and Chicken Tacos and our server was Veronica.
Super pleasant.
Def ok Mexican restaurant but was not blown away. My partner usually drinks down the Birria consommé but he found it tasted more like a beef broth with onion and cilantro in it. The margarita flight was good and a great way to try a few flavours.

Thank god for Chilangos! Best authentic Mexican food anywhere remotely close. They even do my favourite Mexican drinks from horchata to Jamaica, tamarindo and even cafe de olla! (If ya don’t know them, try them!)
