Messed up both our food orders. Ordered sliders and it came with none of the chipotle mayo. We also ordered a cheeseburger that came with no cheese. Food was bland and not seasoned at all. Fries didn’t even have salt on them and were saturated in oil. They told me the food was going to be ready in 10 minutes when I ordered and we had to wait an extra 20 minutes when we got there because they forgot to put the food on due to a shift change. Worst food I have EVER had! Definitely won’t be going back.

The place is not the same. the original restaurant was great. The food now is terrible. My food came out wrong. the waitress brought it back & brought me new food in less then 5 minuets. The plate of the new food came out cold like it just came out of the fridge. My first enchilada was luke warm the second one was cold. I sent the food back & decided that I am safer not ordering more food. I do not think this place will make it through the winter.

Food is good. Service sucks ass. I suggest trying this place. Just don’t expect your queso to be served before your chips are already eaten. Don’t expect the waitress/barkeep/senior citizen to get you order correct. You might get a meal half off though.

My friends Fritz and Karen from Scandia told me to check out Chiko’s Bar and Grill. After getting directions off the internet me and Anna took a road trip to Scandia to check it out. After recently finding out Anna loves Mexican food I couldn’t wait to take her there. Right away they serve you homemade chips and salsa. The salsa was mild, how I like it. I ordered The Chiko’s Torta Sandwich and it was full of flavor, with fresh peppers and onions, on a soft bun. It was really good. Anna ordered The Pollo Fundido and said it was very good. She took half of it home and was excited to eat it later. We didn’t have room for desert but the Red Velvet Cake looked really good. I can’t wait to try more items off the menu, and I will recommend Chiko’s to everyone. Thanks Fritz and Karen.

Chiko’s (formerly MiCasita) has been in Scandia for several years. They were located in Forest Lake, MN before this. My wife and I would always make the drive to Forest Lake to eat there, and were excited to hear that they were moving to Scandia. We have eaten here at least once a month for the last several years. Their food has always been wonderful. Admittedly when they first made the move to Scandia, their service was sometimes hit and miss. This is no longer a problem. Their staff is very friendly. They make great tasting HUGE margaritas. They have recently made some positive menu changes as well. We have always felt very fortunate to have such great Mexican food, located close to home.

Great tasting and well-prepared authentic Mexican food with ample portions to satisfy the heartiest of appetites! Had a great time chatting with Gerardo who aptly described the dishes we had questions about and his cooking and hospitality philosophy.
We started with a cheese quesadilla with chicken and Gerardo, or Marco, added a little chorizo at our request – the creamy nuttiness of molten cheese married with moist and tender chicken and spicy chorizo brought massive flavor and a little heat thoughtfully sided with a small palate-cooling salad sprinkled with Cotija was a great introduction to the flavors of dinner to come…
Laurie had the chile rellenos, her typical baseline dish judge the authenticity of preparation and flavors. These were SPOT ON!! Large poblanos stuffed with creamy queso fresco, batter dipped, then fried to perfection. One was covered with a delicate cheese sauce and the other with a traditional fresh-made red sauce.
My fajitas were great! The meats were well-seasoned and fresh peppers and onions tender-crisp. Perfecto! Condiments featured romaine lettuce (just like Jalisco!), rice, refried beans prepared just the way I like with some beans left whole, and locally sourced cheese freshly grated. Wow, we’ll be back!
Service was abysmal. There was only one server covering the bar and dining room. She sat and cheerfully commingled with regulars and seemed irritated at anything, like tending to our table and others in the dining room, that diverted her attention from that.

Snooty bar staff. Very unfriendly. The blonde “Tifanny” I think her name is…the worst. Only helps the regulars. She has the personality of a piece of paper. One girl with the brown hair is 10+. Always nice…a true server who asks how your food is right after you start eating it. Blonde has no clue…never smiles. Hate coming here. Now the blonde girl with the stupid wedge haircut is the new Tiffany. Lazy and won’t wait on you unless YOU call her over. Worthless.

I’ll start off by saying we only went here because the place we wanted to go was packed and couldn’t get in. There were very little customers here but service was still very slow, the waitress was very scattered, and did not know the menu or what drinks were available. The food was just ok. Would not return here.

The Queso Fundido is not to be missed. Bar area is clean and the bartenders were very helpful and made a good drink.
