The food is amazing. I stopped by during their happy hour and tried all kinds of dumplings, and they turned out good. So, I ordered one more round, and I also ordered 3 entrées, which were really good too.
For the service, I think it’s kind of like self-service.

I went here before seeing a show at signature theater. The food was incredible. The garlic shrimp dumplings, which were packed with shrimp in a delicious dipping sauce. I also had the orangish chicken, which was a large portion, crispy, and delicious. The iced coffee was great too. Definitely going back!

TLDR: Very little protein. Not as flavorable as other locations.

I tried the Chiko’s at DuPont and loved it! I had the lamb there, among other dishes, and it was delicious. I tried the same dish here and had a very different experience. There was very little lamb in the bowl and the sauce was good, but not as flavorable. I don’t know what the discrepancy is, but I would not recommend this location. Chicko’s? Yes; this location? No.

Chiko is a nice little casual Asian restaurant located on Shirlington row VA. The place is kind of hidden amongst the other cluster of competing restaurants so it’s not easy to find.
Luckily my homeboy and I stumbled upon this spot and really enjoyed it. If you’re looking for fine dining then this is not the place for you.
It’s got a fun chill vibe, the food/drinks are in fact very tasty and the manager Jesus was very kind and accommodating as well.
He made awesome recommendations for us to try on our first visit. I am looking forward to coming back to that location specifically.

Excellent service! The server helped us order our food and was very efficient and attentive. We ordered a numerous different plates to share. Pork & kimchi potsticker, garlic and shrimp dumpling, house fried rice, spicy ahi tuna tartare, wok blistered green beans, also the pineapple lime cooler. The food was very good, some dishes were on the sweeter side, but the rest of the plates were delicious! Food came out hot and fast, would come here again!

This is my third time visiting this location since they opened, and I must say, they never disappoint. The setup inside is fast casual and the staff are prompt and friendly. It’s self-seating and you ordered online through a QR code – not sure if that’s still the practice however since I ordered for pickup. My usual is the chicken spring rolls (they’re SO GOOD) and the lamb braised noodles. The noodles are perfectly cooked and there’s a generous portion of lamb and veggies. It’s really enough for two people. Other reviews here complaining about small portions should dump the food into a plate to appreciate how much food is really there- the takeout containers are very deceiving. It’s a little pricey, yes, but the quality of the food is great and it’s very flavorful. Other things I’ve tried and liked include the banchan (especially the spicy veggies), green beans, brussel sprouts, and bulgogi with rice cakes. Everything is delicious. The sesame custard dessert is AMAZING. Absolutely worth a visit.

I enjoyed the bulgolgi tots very much! Packs tons of flavor and good portion as well as the fried rice and the noodles is a great value for the price. The chicken sandwich was okay, wasn’t very tender so a bit on the chewy side so not worth it to me. The decor of the place was lacking doesn’t seem like a place I’d want to sit down in really. I’d still go back for the tots but only to go orders from here on out.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here last night and it was great. Nice outdoor seating for his puppy and friendly staff. Food – spicy snacks, sweet and spicy string beans, orange ish chicken was tasty due to controlling the sauce and dumplings were decent too. I would recommend this place. I would probably try a different entree if we went back again.

I had one of the worst dining experiences at Chiko Arlington on Labor Day around 7 PM, 09/01/25 and I need to share this. We’ve eaten at Chiko before and enjoyed it, but this location was a complete disappointment in both service and food safety.
We placed an order via DoorDash about 30 minutes before arriving. From the moment we walked in, the staff was rude and unprofessional toward my daughter. We know the menu well, but what we received wasn’t what we normally pay for. The menu online shows whole chicken wings, but instead we were given tiny “party wings” smothered in orange chicken sauce when we had actually ordered spicy soy glaze. On top of that, they tried to overcharge us $2 for “spicy sauce,” a charge that doesn’t exist on the menu. It really felt like someone was just making up prices to pocket extra money.
The rice portion was insultingly small, barely enough for a toddler, and the food quality did not reflect the prices being charged. The chicken smelled burnt, was overcooked, stuck together, and tasted charred even though I never requested charbroiled wings, in fact, I didn’t request party wings at all. Bland, nasty, and already smelling off, I couldn’t even finish one bite before throwing it away. To make it worse, it came in a heavy, soggy container that made the whole meal even less appetizing. The rice was decent but nowhere near the quality we expect from Chiko.
What really turned this from disappointing to alarming was the behavior of the staff. They were laughing, fooling around, and making inappropriate remarks in Spanish, assuming we wouldn’t understand. My daughter, who is multilingual (including Spanish), understood every word. She is disabled, and the way they joked about her was cruel and degrading. She kept her composure with grace, but no customer should have to experience that.
Even worse, the same employee who smelled as though he hadn’t bathed in years was the one preparing food. He used the same dirty glove to scoop rice into a tiny container. Gloves are supposed to be changed between tasks to prevent cross-contamination and food allergies, basic food safety 101, but that clearly didn’t happen. Based on the smell and how careless he was, I doubt that glove had been changed in hours.
We even had to drive back after they messed up the DoorDash order, only to be met with the same dismissive and unprofessional behavior. Clearly, management does not care, because these aren’t small mistakes, they’re repeated patterns. After coming home, I checked other recent reviews and found reports of food poisoning and diarrhea. Now I’m literally afraid to eat what we brought home.
This location is unsafe, disrespectful, and poorly managed. Overcharging customers, serving the wrong food, ignoring hygiene, and mocking people with disabilities is unacceptable. Management needs to step in immediately before this becomes an even bigger problem.
We will definitely stick to our original Chiko location from now on. This experience is exactly why it’s better to just cook at home, at least then you know the food is safe, clean, and handled with care.

The food is good for being so quickly prepared. Definitely a great place to go if you want something delicious and quick. I enjoyed the garden noodles as they reminded me of semi-spicy japchae. My son got the soy glazed brisket and really enjoyed it. My partner got the orangish chicken and gave it 4.7 stars as she liked the flavor and spice
