I was very excited about this place and drove over 1 hour to get there only to realize it was a mistake. I wanted to order Chicken Chijaukay, a plate that’s synonymous with Purvian/Chifa cuisine, but the lady at the counter stated it wasn’t really it. When I asked why, she then said it was just chicken fingers dipped in a sauce… that resembles the dish, but it wasn’t really it. The moment I heard that, I knew I was at the wrong place. I looked at their menu, but nothing really stood out for me, so I went for the simplest thing and ordered a burrito; again, I wasn’t impressed with it. It was a complete disappointment. I will not be coming back, so don’t believe the hype about this place.

We ordered the lo mein, fried rice, and chijaukay chicken. The fried rice was a little ginger-y which made it fresh with fluffy pieces of egg. The lo mein noodles were extra long (long life!)and the sauce was light and savory. The chicken was different from any chicken I’ve had before and I loved the savory sauce.
That being said, we ordered take out ahead of time. They told us 30 minutes. Get there in 30 minutes and they said it would be another 30 minutes. At this point, I’m so hungry I stop by McDonalds for a bite to eat. I have also been to this same location for Peruvian chicken and it has also taken an long time
TL;DR: the food was great and would definitely recommend if you want to try something a little different, but not too different from the usual. However, don’t order while hungry, because you will be starved.
