I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best cheesesteak in NJ, let alone the best one I’ve ever had! From the friendly service I was received to the amazing food they offer I was not left disappointed! They pack their cheesesteaks to the brim which is amazing! That’s how you know the owners Nella and Matt take pride in what they do, and trust me, they gained a returning customer! I would not stop talking about that cheesesteak the entire ride home! I’m definitely coming back! Love this place I highly recommend!

Honestly, this is so good I wouldn’t be surprised if people from Philly came just to eat this cheesesteak.
The flavor was insane, perfectly cooked, and super satisfying.
On top of that, the owner was unbelievably kind and welcoming

Very clean place! Chicken cheesesteak was incredible. Owner is the chef and I like how you can see their kitchen- keeps it very clean and he takes pride in the food! Very nice guy. We’re not too close but it was very worth the drive, we will be back!

This restaurant was an absolute gem! I love cheese steaks, and Chiefs steak house was definitely what the doctor ordered! The staff was pleasant, professional and ready to help you in all that you requested. The atmosphere was clean! The tables were not cluttered with unnecessary stuff. And on to the food! The steak was cooked to perfection! The bun was toasted perfectly. The sauce and peppers also, a perfect combo. My wife ordered fried pickle spears, and they were absolutely delicious. She also got funnel cake fries and me a cannoli! Everything was sooooo worth it. Whenever we come to New Jersey, we definitely will be making this our thing! Thank you for such a wonderful food experience

It’s hard to find a good cheesesteak or even a chicken cheesesteak around here but thank god for Chief’s. Semolina bread, sautéed onions, STACKED the chicken BABY!!! Incredible all around. I’d say best chicken cheesesteak in NJ and I’ve had quite a bit of them. Incredible!

I had to drop the 5 stars for this one. What a delightful family-owned business! Everyone there was friendly including the young lady with glasses at the cashier (didn’t get her name) I felt very welcomed.
Matt is the best at his craft and it shows. Incredibly juicy cheesesteaks, full of flavour. It is truly a gem.
We drove 45 or so minutes and it was worth every minute. My family and I will be coming back.

My boyfriend and I eat cheesesteaks all of the time and this is definitely in the top 2. The fried pickles, the french fries, and the mac & cheese were so delicious. Everything was made to perfection. The first thing we noticed was how clean it was and how friendly the owner Matt and his daughter Maria were. I don’t normally give reviews, but they deserve this five star review. We will be coming back to try something different from the extensive menu. We can’t wait to try the onion rings. Thank you again Matt and Maria for an amazing delicious lunch. It’s obvious you put a lot of love and care into your cooking.This was a last minute decision to come here and one of the best choices we ever made.

The best in the State. Small town Big city taste. We ordered the 10 inch chesestak with white American cheese and 6 wings. Phenomenal. The Steaks are Premium Quality 100% Beef Ribeye Steak which comes with choice of 1 cheese and 1 classic topping or sauce. We simply got white American cheese, steak and onion. But I encourage you to be creative, there are several options to create the perfect Steak. The chesesteak was seasoned to perfection, the cheese was rich, the perfect amount of onions in a fresh roll. Perfectly delicious. I highly recommend Chief’s steak shop. You will not be disappointed. This shop is family owned. We were greeted and welcomed from the door. There are a variety of other menus items such as Backyard Burgers, hot dogs, wraps,Ultimate nachos, pretzel bites, french fries, loaded fries, tots, wedges, Mac & Cheese and more! The dining room is clean and you can see the chef cooking in the kitchen. You can see they use fresh veggies. This is a great place to bring the family,sit in, pick up and go, or have delivered. Chief’s Steak Shop is a fantastic local gem. Matt, the owner, is extremely friendly and genuinely passionate about his business, which is clear the moment you walk in. The place was spotless, and it was great to see a true family-run operation with Matt’s son and daughter helping behind the counter. His daughter was working the register and was both helpful and very knowledgeable.
I ordered the 7” cheesesteak with provolone and sautéed onions, and it was outstanding. I absolutely loved that they offer a seeded roll. I have rarely seen that outside of Philly, and it was a great extra touch. The 7” sandwich was huge and could have easily fed two people. Thankfully, I was starving.
Prices are very reasonable, the menu is extensive, and the quality is excellent. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back.
