Reviews
My husband and I ordered Sanchos, they were so different. The pieces of lettuce was huge not shredded like before and it was ice cold. The Sanchos weren’t even warm. The flavor was very different. I always loved going to Chicos when we went to Salem, but will probably not be going back.
Edit – I just ate here again and it was just as good as the last time. The Beef Supreme Nachos are out of this world. Wanted to update and add a photo.
I had to scrape sooooo much sour cream off of it it was crazy! The entire top of it was covered! Noticed it when I got back home tried to call no one would answer! Picture is the sour cream I scraped off! This is the right Chico Salem Illinois 62881!
It has a nice outer sitting area with tables and lights right off of a not-so-busy area of highway 50. This was one of the only nice things about my visit on 8/30/19.
The first thing I noticed when entering the building was that the floors nearest the counter were covered in food someone had spilled long before I got there and probaby remained there long after I left. The table I sat at was the cleanest but still had salt sprinkled across it. The other tables as well as ours remained uncleaned throughout the entire visit.
When I approached the counter I was unsure of the food choices as I had never been to this establishment. The staff offered no opinions or recommendations and after we ordered gave us our total and assigned us a number which he did not give us (nor did we receive a receipt).
We waited ten minutes for our food and when they called our number I had to go and ask which was ours because no staff offered us any indications that it was our food as it sat with another tray of unmarked food.
I thought that the food would be a better experience than everything else. I was sorely mistaken.
The food I ordered was a taco salad and a chicken taco. I was originally enthusiastic about it but again, disappointment. My taco salad was 60% lettuce and the shell was a pale tan color denoting it hadn’t cooked long enough. I picked through the food and noticed water pooling at the base of the container. Soggy, uncooked, and mostly lettuce. Very unappealing.
I didnt finish my food and tossed it away. It felt pointless to even complain with all the things that had transpired. I imagine the vacant looks of the young, uninterested staff would have been the response. I took my drink (a cold water) and left the resturant. Im glad I did because it was very muggy out and the cold tap water was the best part of the meal. I wish I would have experienced the outside sitting area, it truly seemed pleasant.
For the nearly 20 dollars that my girlfriend and I spent we went to Sonic in Centralia immediately after getting back into town.
Please offer oversight to your younger staff.
0/10 for staff
1/5 for cold water and pleasant outside area (that I regretably didnt experience.)
