Absolutely worth the stop at LA CHICKY MUNCHY at the Food Truck Paradise in New Haven!
The owners were super friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in not only their food but also their truck—it was spotless. The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I had the shrimp in a garlic sauce with tostones—so good! And the lobster empanada? Stuffed, crispy, and fried fresh absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

On our drive back from JFK to Boston stopped by New Haven’s food trucks and we randomly picked this truck that offers Puerto Rican food. Very kind and sweet couple run this truck. The food pictures are on the truck and the owner is happy to explain everything patiently…you can customize your food as you please. The food is obviously prepared on site so takes a little time but food is fresh and tasty. We tried the chicken, steak and the Empanadas and everything was delicious!! We also tried the passion fruit drink and the Piña colada and a bonus tasty Tamarindo drink! Loved everything .. we would have been stopping by often if we were locals ! Highly recommend.

I had the beef and chicken pinchos 5star for sure. The owner took the time to talk to me about the food truck business and he gave me his business card to contact him for more information very nice guy and professional as well. 21 years of experience definitely shows. I was drawn in by the presentation of the truck. Although all the other trucks were great, this one in particular stuck out for me.

My husband and I travel many times on I95 and always said we would stop at LONG WHARF Connecticut to check out some of the food trucks. Well we did and WOW!
There were so many PR food trucks to choose from but we went to CHICKY MUNCHY and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and fresh. The truck was nice and clean. Very representable. I truly thought I was in PR eating in a restaurant.
We had the chicken pincho with plantains and a alcapurria. Food is authentic, took me back to my younger days in Spanish Harlem where we use to go to eat at the cuchifritos. Again I highly recommend this specific food truck if you’re looking for authentic PR food. It’s a little pricey but you will not be disappointed. It’s worth it!
