Worst overall experience in a long time. I was picking up an order, and placed another. The cashier was fake friendly and condescending, which I expected, but the food was not what I thought. Chicken and potatoes were so DRY, they were inedible. The food was for an elderly woman who has issues chewing. The potatoes were hard and looked like they gave her what was left in the bag. She then said that the chicken was Salty, and refused to eat it. For the price, not a good meal an all.

Chicken shack is one of my favorite food fast places to go. Extremely frustrated with how it will not allow me to pay via credit card in the app or online. It says that I have not filled in all the required fields correctly, but does not point me to the field not correctly done. Apple Pay does not work on the app either. Leaving me to call in every time. This is minor but something this simple should not be so hard for someone.

After arriving posting and tipping for my order I realized they were packing the wrong thing. Either they misheard me , or I forgot to add bbq sauce. they added it and charged me a fee on to barely put any on my chicken

The workers at this Royal Oak location on Woodward are clean, fast and have good attitudes. The food is usually hot and fresh, excluding my most recent visit where it seemed the pork chops I ordered were cold on the inside. I’m going to write that as a one off considering that’s the only time I’ve had a problem throughout the past 10 years I’ve been going there.

Ordered delivery off the chicken shack website. It linked to Uber Eats. Paid nearly $50.
No updates from Uber Eats after an hour. Went to pick it up myself from store and was treated very rudely from front desk worker who found the food after denying it was there and shoved it at me. Cold. I paid delivery fee and I had to pick it up.

Let me just say I used to love this place back in the day and I recently went here. The seasoning is very good however the chicken is overdone. I had to take my breast back the first time and then the second time all of it was dry and I had purchased it for my mother or you’re still being executive chef and had her own catering business and she ate the chicken. It took her to let me know what the problem was that they were overcooking the chicken. They say 7 minutes but she said they’re supposed to set it for 5:00 and as it cooled down for the last two that’s the seven because it continues to cook after the 7 minutes so that’s the problem. Not sure if they know that or if they do it sometime or who the manager the supervisor is. But this broasted chicken is tough. Make sure you have good teeth at this point the only thing I would recommend were the potatoes. They were A1. I got a fish dinner and I just could have got better fish from Costco’s or Sam’s club and threw it in the fryer myself. I should have went to the boneyard and got my cod fish. That’s what I get… I was in between on this review because the chicken is very flavorful and good but it’s overcooked and overcooked chicken is better than undercooked chicken, But it’s still not good.. let’s go back to reading the manual and give this chicken right because the flavor is good and it looks like I’m the only one That had an issue.. perhaps it was just my chicken

Beware of inconsistent food! This original chicken shack location used to be consistently delicious. Chicken today was over battered, not crispy at all and in a puddle of butter. Potatoes were like soggy soup and they didn’t put side of bbq sauce in the bag. The only thing that wasn’t messed up was the delicious shrimp. Please get better management or train your employees.

Their brosted chicken is so good… I stopped by for lunch the other day and had their chicken chunks lunch with there potatoes, coleslaw and a roll which I enjoyed. The lunch menu is confusing and not user friendly so I just guessed. The restaurant is very small inside so you have to eat at a small counter around the windows. The bathroom is in a weird spot. Food was so good but the restaurant leaves some to be desired.
