I don’t dine out nearly as often since my lunch buddy went to that nice diner in the sky, but today, I did. A friend invited me to a place out west called Chicken Salad Chicks, and it was dang clucking GREAT! When I go out for a meal, I usually can’t wait to leave once I’m done. Not here. Besides being with someone I hadn’t seen in over 3 years, and who is funny as hell, and a great conversationalist, the atmosphere was conducive to just not wanting to leave. The food is freshly made on site, and the staff does not encourage you to eat and run. It’s chicken salad. Soups, or berries, desserts that look like Betty Crocker works there. The lighting, the colors, the sweet southern sayings; it’s clean, and roomy, and the acoustics are such that you can actually CONVERSE. Two thumbs up, 10 stars, and worth the drive! GO!!!

The food was very good, flavorful. We liked the gluten free options. But the wait was so long! 3 of us ordered, we waited 42 minutes.. then when the girl was bringing our meals she walked by us twice. Our number was clearly displayed. We asked her where do we get spoons for our table…she had us the dreaded eye roll.

If you dont like chicken salad….you might try somewhere else because this place makes some mighty tasty chicken salad. I just had the single scoop of the original with one side and it was plenty for me. Im excited to try the different flavors. The cake looks great, but not something i will order.

This place has quickly become one of our go-to spots whenever we’re short on time or just not in the mood to cook. It reminds me of the homemade chicken salad sandwiches I loved from a local deli when I was growing up, so it definitely brings back some warm, nostalgic memories.
If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot. We’ve both dined in and grabbed their “Quick Chicks” to take home — both experiences are excellent. The Chick Melts are a standout favorite, and all the side options are consistently fresh and delicious.
We absolutely love this place, and if you’re looking for something on the lighter, healthier side without sacrificing flavor, I think you’ll love it too.

I have been to and really enjoyed other Chicken Salad Chick restaurants in Florida and Tennessee and was looking forward to trying out Wichita’s. It was a different experience. The sandwich was just bread and meat—no lettuce and tomato even though the photo on the menu and the description stated it came with those. That is not how the sandwiches were served in the other Chicken Salad Chick restaurants I gave been to. The toasted bread was soggy. It tasted like it had been toasted yesterday and stored in the fridge. The cookie was good and the workers were friendly, though. I asked about the lettuce and tomato and was told that was how they come even though that is not how it was described or pictured. The chicken salad was fine, but the soggy, stale bread overpowered the taste. I hope things get better and it was just an off day.

If you haven’t tried Chicken Salad Chick yet, you’re missing out – 10/10 recommend! What a cute place, and i was surprised their menu includes so much more than a variety of chicken salad; salads, soup, mac & cheese and desserts. I had the “Fancy Nancy” on a croissant with the broccoli salad and grape salad…holy YUM! it even came with a yummy little buttercream frosted cookie. Hoping they’ll stay busy so they stay open, we’ll definitely be back!

I had the fancy Nancy and the sassy scotty and it’s hard to pick my favorite- they were both fantastic!! Most places load their chicken salad with onions which overpower the other flavors. This place blends unique flavors that all stand out without the onions and I really appreciate that. I drove 45 minutes to try this place so I’d say that’s my only complaint. Bring one to the east side of town so it’s easier for me to come back more often!
