My spouse and I recently visited the new Chicken Salad Chick location in New Bern, bringing along family so we could all try something together. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how bright, clean, and welcoming the space was.
We sampled a variety of their signature chicken salads (they offer many flavor options) and were pleased by how fresh and flavorful each one was. The ingredients tasted high quality, and you could tell things were made from scratch. The side salads and soups complemented our main dishes nicely.
What really stood out was the service. The staff were friendly, helpful, and patient as we asked questions about different salad flavors and combinations. They made ordering easy, even when we debated which variety to get. Because the location is newer in town, there was a pleasant buzz and energy, but it never felt chaotic.
The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed; a great spot for lunch or a casual meal with family. We really appreciated that it wasn’t overly loud or rushed, allowing us to enjoy conversation and the food.
This place is absolutely added into the rotation.
If I were to offer any suggestions, it would just be to continue evolving their menu of sides or seasonal specials, but even as is, Chicken Salad Chick in New Bern is a welcome addition to the local dining scene. We’ll absolutely be going back and bringing more friends.

So I am late to the party. LOL This place rocks. I love I can get it as a scoop to cut the carbs They have amazing sides I got the the grape salad and My mom and Dad got soup. The chicken noodle pablano great flavors and it is a bit spicy. I may make this a once or twice a week stop. Definitely worth the stop and take a friend.

Even though they were absolutely poppin’ with excited new customers and To-Go orders, the staff handled it like pros! They kept things moving quickly while still being super friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Since it was our very first visit, the sweet lady at the counter even went over the menu with us and made great recommendations — talk about exceptional customer service! You’re more than just a number when you walk into this Chicken Salad Chick.
I ordered the Bacon Cheddar Melt on a buttery croissant with “Olivia’s Old South” chicken salad—absolute perfection. The croissant was flaky, the bacon crispy, and the chicken salad had that classic southern comfort flavor that hits just right. For sides, I grabbed the mac & cheese and broccoli cheese soup—both creamy, cheesy, and ridiculously delicious.
The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh and homemade, and the vibe made it clear that this team truly cares about both their food and their guests.

I went here when it first opened and I’ve been a couple times after. Everything was tasty & fresh but tonight (November 5th) the sandwiches were delicious as always but I had the Mac&Cheese as a side and it tasted rancid. It tasted like it was a little over a week old, granted it’s not very flavorful to begin with but it just tasted off and the color was off as well…had to spit it out.
This is the first time I’ve had a complaint but like a lot of places it just depends on who’s working for that day.

From the moment we walked through the door, the experience at Chicken Salad Chick in New Bern was outstanding. The atmosphere was spotless, welcoming, and comfortable. First time ordering as new location in our town. Ordering online was easy enough. I did call to see if broccoli cheese soup had chicken broth in it. Person answering phone did not know. He should have found out. I didn’t order it.

Plenty of different chicken salads. I ordered the Fancy Nancy (pecans, grapes, apples). The two who ate it said it was good, but not the best they ever had. I had the egg salad which was good, but had an unusual spice (maybe nutmeg or tumeric). Anyway – I could have done without the spice. Also ordered the pasta salad which no one really liked. The broccoli salad was very good and they put the bacon on the side as asked. The dressing in the broccoli salad made the salad. Ordered a loaf of bread as I was curious about how good it might be. Just your usual wheat bread. So at $8.99 – wouldn’t recommend it.

Great place! Just opened in August and the service was fantastic. It was our first time there today and the staff and general manager were all very helpful in showing us how everything worked. They have a huge selection of chicken salads and you can sample every one of them if you’re not sure. The food tastes and feels very clean and healthy and the wait time was basically non-existent. The general manager came to our table and asked how everything was and stuck around to chat. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for changing the menu, making it easier to order. The hard part –which salad do I go with. Every one I have had was delicious. The crew is exceptional. Making sure everything was perfect during our dining experience.

I was disappointed in this site. Been to Chicken Salad Chick in The Florida in different cities. Food was always consistent.
New Bern food was bland. The croissant tasted stale, small serving of chicken. Salads (grape, broccoli) were good.
