I’ve gone here before, but it was years ago. The service was great. The staff was very friendly and the food came quick. We ordered a 10 piece family meal. Unfortunately, the chicken was lacking seasoning. The portions were good, but the taste was off because of the lack of seasoning. The bathrooms were clean. Just wish the food was seasoned.

I wanted to drop a quick note about my recent experiences at Chicken and spice. First off, I really do enjoy your food — it hits the spot quite often! However, I’ve noticed a couple of things lately that I thought might be worth mentioning from a customer’s perspective.
Occasionally, I’ve found that some of the chicken pieces, especially when it’s busy, can be a little undercooked in the middle. I actually used to work at your downtown location years ago, so I have a bit of insight into how things run. It felt like sometimes too many pieces were being cooked at once in the fryers, which might be contributing to this. Just a thought!
My biggest concern, though, has been the portion sizes. Honestly, they seem to have shrunk quite a bit. When I order a main meal, it often feels like there’s just not enough to go around, and if I add an extra small side, it’s so tiny it barely seems worth it – almost like it’s meant for a little kid. Even the “large” potato wedges sometimes barely cover the bottom of the tray. It just doesn’t feel like the great value it used to be.
Anyway, just wanted to share my honest feedback in a friendly way! Really appreciate the food you make, and I’m hoping these observations might be helpful.

Name is chicken n spice. The chicken chunks are big and juicy, with great breading. But the spice part of the name is lacking. Absolutely no seasoning or spice. The sides were ok but nothing to get excited about. They do have chicken livers which is great since no other chicken place offers them, but again lacking the spice…..

Picked up a 20 chunk special, I live down the street. The rice and mashed potatoes were not hot at all. The chicken was warm but not hot plus they forgot to put sauces in the bag. I think for the $49.04 spent the quality should be better.

So ANGRY I did not try this place sooner! Their spicy sandwich makes Chick-fil-A taste like hot garbage. Potato wedges are cooked and seasoned perfectly. If you’re going to Popeyes you are wasting your money.

This place is really nice. The Best coleslaw you’ll ever have. It’s a shame JJC forced them out of the location downtown Joliet. But … this place is getting crazy expensive, 18$ for 9 chunks and nothing else. For that price you could get a 10pc Family Meal from the Jewel across the way. The chicken salad is good too, definitely worth a try, just be prepared to pay $$$.

We love their chicken chunks, but the food solely received a 3 star rating because there was there were only two side sizes to choose from (small or large). I ordered a small because it was just for myself and no joke, the rice was served in a taller jello shots container. It was small enough that I could still cup it in my palm. The “large” is the size of a small at other restaurants. Somebody stop it, ya’ll can do better than this .
