It’s the set-up I don’t like. I was spoiled with the Bay City location where they have a drink station in the lobby. Here, you have to go to the counter and wait for an employee. They have minimal staff and they look tired. I watch them hustling and feel bad asking for a refill.
The food is always perfect, but the atmosphere sucks. I’ve tried to go here and shop local, but for the money I’m paying, I prefer Bay City’s set-up. Please think of making changes, management/owner. I have talked to many people who feel the same.

Ordered fish, got chicken. Ordered push puppies, got none. The lady in the window apparently hates her job, or at least the drastically large frown on her face and the fact she shoves my order out the window and snapped the door closed without a word said so. Broken bottle in clear view of her in the driveway not cleaned up. Not a very good location.

Placed an Order over the phone well worth $150 on 8/15/2025. I was greeted by Dee , Chris, And Kimberly who took great care of me. Very quality business for your moneys worth. Hope they stay open for the long run. Dee also ran my gravy to my vehicle before i pulled out. With care and customer service like that i’d hate to see them go anytime soon. Keep up the great work.

First Impressions are everything and this place miss that opportunity. First of all a 3 piece meal is ten bucks. The mac and cheese is a 1/10 dry. Fried chicken small like a pigeon. Biscuit. The Biscuit was pitiful and hard as a rock. I can tell this place will not be here long just like all other restaurants that have met their doom here.

I’ve eaten at other chicken express restaurants before and I haven’t had any complaints. But this one here in Wharton is giving WHARTON Tx quality. I ordered the chicken strip meal with a side Mac and cheese and a roll.. $10
There were 4 little dried up pathetic strips the size of my damn pinky that were rubbery and hard as a rock at the same time. It was painful to swallow the one bite that I took.
The Mac and cheese what the absolute worst Mac and cheese that I have ever had in my life! And the white water gravy they give you in a little cup is grotesque! A crouton is still a bit softer than the roll I was given. I did get a sweet tea with my meal and was given a cup of ice with a splash of tea.. so there’s that. I’m the type of person who doesn’t believe in wasting food but eating this is a form of self harm and I don’t know if it’s even possible or if my body would just reject it. Please save your money. Don’t take a chance eating this chicken and getting the inside of your throat scraped up.

Ordered 3 pieces wing and roll chicken tasted like it cooked in old oil had a burnt taste the cashier was not pleasant and forgot the fried okra hard as a rock

Chicken Express never disappoints! The food was fresh and delicious, but what really made our visit stand out was the service. Ron, the cook, personally brought out our food with a smile and made sure everything was perfect. You don’t see that kind of friendliness every day. Great experience, definitely coming back!

I came to Chicken Express in Wharton for lunch today. When I arrived I was greeted by Dee to take my order she was very professional,polite and explained to me that they had just opened up but that my order would be out in no time at all. Then from the kitchen I hear the friendly voice of Ron who was cooking tell me that he would be glad to go ahead and get my order started. This is customer service!!! I even explained I had like a 2 hr lunch break and was in no hurry the still went above and beyond to complete my order!!!! Ron even came out of the kitchen and brought me Food and drink!!!! Thank you Ron and Dee for a very pleasant dining experience!!!! Y’all are AWESOME keep up the excellent work!!!!! Xx
