Wow. This was my first time here and I was unbelievably impressed. The service was amazing. There are no menus the waiter simply tells you everything that is being prepared that night. Now we’re waiter Tom was well versed in the menu. He was able to tell us what was in each dish and make suggestions from first hand experience of tasting the food. The food was amazing. Perfectly prepared and served at a perfect temperature. Everything is à la carte which is Great to be able to pick your meal how you want it. I highly recommend the asparagus salad with cheese. It was out of this world. I had the chicken parm and my wife had The real tips with mushrooms. Both dishes were spectacular. Dessert was fresh and amazing. The pasta dish egg noodles with primo sauce was delectable. I cannot wait to return for our next special occasion.

Very cool set up, it’s like going to dinner in someone’s house. Location is easy to find and plenty of parking. You can tell they’ve been around a long time. The staff was great and fun. The have a menu but also lots more that the waiter will tell you about. Very traditional Italian home cooking. There is a nice bar in there too and good drinks. You do need reservations. Prices are reasonable. It’s a place you’d want to visit with friends. We had a party of 6 and it was a lot of fun and great experience all around. It was a 3 hour dinner for us.

I could not believe I was at the Homestead! While the salad and the appetizers were really great. I’ve been eating here for 30 years and never had a bad meal. Last night was the exception. Service was horrible, with a clearly new server, who was being abused by the redheaded guy that was running the kitchen. We literally got the Primo pasta because we love it and it was dry with no sauce, not like I’ve had it in the past and I can’t believe they put that food on our plates. The main dish, including the steak and a lamb chop were awful, overcooked and we were told that was the way we ordered it, burnt and like a brick. I don’t think I’ll go back again.

Had a great reunion with my dad today. He passed last year but was like he was here at the Homestead House. Met some great friends, had a great time and never really appreciated how much dad meant to me. He loved this place. Thanks Dad. Love you.

An excellent dining experience in an Historical place! The estate captures the romance of an era gone by with the setting, staff, and menu. The best selection of culinary delights to meet any expectation. The entire experience rates actually much more than 5 star and will forever be a great memory!

Went in to buy a $200 gift card and was treated very rudely by the man at the bar and change my mind.

Place is run down and has bad energy people working there

Old school NJ dining at its best!! The waiter reads you the menu, and you feel like you’re eating in somebody’s Nonna’s living room. Classic Italian fare, nothing fancy, but many different sauces from which to choose. HUGE portions! Don’t forget to order a big bowl of Arctic peanut butter ice cream for dessert—Trenton’s finest!!

We ordered the ribeye. It was very good but way too expensive! They had a fish special which was never offered to us. Regulars at the next table got treated better than us and were offered the special fish. Place looks run down. We will definitely not go back!
