Normally Chick-fil-A is the gold standard for fast food, super efficient, organized, and literally like a well-oiled machine. I used to joke that Chick-fil-A should run our country because no one moves a line faster or runs operations smoother.
That’s why I was so excited when a brand new Chick-fil-A opened close to my house. The location is amazing… but the experience has been the opposite of what you’d expect.
No matter if you come at 10am, noon, or 10pm, it consistently takes 30+ minutes to get through the line. It doesn’t seem to matter whether you mobile order or go through the regular drive-thru or the only person there, the process is slow either way. Mobile orders don’t seem prioritized, both lanes are NEVER open, and the staff doesn’t feel fully trained or coordinated yet.
I totally understand they’re brand new and there will be growing pains… but it honestly feels like it’s getting worse instead of better. At this point, I could literally drive to the other Chick-fil-A location in town, get my food faster, and be back home before I’d even make it through the line at the one that’s two minutes from my house. I really hope they get it together soon, because the location is so convenient but the wait time makes it hard to justify coming here.

The slowest one around and that I’ve been to period. Always very slow, can tell this franchise owner doesn’t really care. In it for money that’s all. Food is okay compared to Campbell. Photo at 8 in morning, ridiculous.

As a long time customer of Chick Fil A we were happy that a new store was opening up since we live out of town. However we do not like this location at all. We will just continue to drive all the way across town to S. Glenstone. Understanding that they have just opened up not to long ago but this location is awful. It doesn’t even feel like Chick Fil A. The heart is missing you could say. A double drive through and we do use our app and it is not the fault of having that app system it is just that there are never enough people working, the ones that are seem to be standing around looking lost, they have no sense of urgency and act like you are there and go off of their time not yours. Very few people are even nice, short with you and don’t talk like the other locations. Have even gone inside to pick up order instead of drive through and it’s as bad. Huge lot, huge location and people again just roaming around. At least they could be making people feel welcomed. The manager on duty this morning was not at all welcoming or friendly but there just seems to be an air about the entire thing. Hope they get it all figured out but for us we will gladly drive across town to experience what Chick Fil A is supposed to be.

We truly enjoy Chick-Fil-A’s delicious food and excellent service. To enhance the experience for everyone, it might be beneficial to consider optimizing the drive-through process. Utilizing both lanes for drive-through orders and establishing dedicated parking spots for mobile order pickups could improve efficiency. Additionally, providing further training for staff or increasing the team size might help manage the high volume at a store of this size. While this location is new, implementing these adjustments could ensure it operates as smoothly as possible. Unlike the chicken, the 30+ minute wait times are a bit hard to swallow.

Went through the drive thru on opening day. Thrilled to have a location on this side of town. Despite the huge line they kept traffic moving and the service was excellent.

Easily the slowest Chick-fil-A I’ve ever been too. You can go to glenstone at noon on the busy day of the year and still get your food long before this CFA will serve you. It is more time efficient to drive to any of the other locations.

Reading the comments, I feel people are being terribly harsh on a brand-new restaurant- especially one that’s been absolutely slammed with business. I’ve been to this Chick-fil-A no less than 10 times, and each visit the drive-thru has become more efficient. My order has never been wrong, and the staff has been nothing but kind. Good things take time, and with a little more patience, I believe this location will meet (and exceed) everyone’s expectations.

Not up to par like the other CFA locations in Springfield. There is 0 team work and 0 leadership shown by the manager. We went Thursday night, and lord bless her, the only one that seemed to care about decent customer service was the poor girl working behind the register. Our food was brought to the table, and then 10 mins later we were still waiting on drinks. The lady behind the register jumped right on it as soon as I went up and brought it to her attention. The “manager” stared at me standing at the register waiting for refills and just continued to sit there and stare as his staff was running around like chickens with their heads chopped off. Definitely the definition of a “manager” and not a “leader” and not showing true CFA values. I felt like I was at a Mcdonalds. I’ll also mention that the other staff standing around was not polite or kind at the slightest. The atmosphere is wayyyy off. They have a long way to go to get up to CFA expectations, and I think a leadership change may be necessary.

Not even sure how I should put my rating. The food was good, service was good. We were asked multiple times if we needed anything. Generally a 5 star experience. Then, a very unfortunate event took place and while it was not at all caused by the staff of the location- I do find myself displeased by the lack of intervention by store management after what happened.

I took my family to this Chick fil A location for dinner and fun at the play place. I have two boys, 6 & 4, who we took with us. They were playing in the play area while my wife and I ate and I monitored their play. Near the end of the meal- I suddenly had a stranger step out of the play room yelling loudly across the restaurant that he is going to “beat my ass” if my children touch his children again. I fully admit I did not see the event that triggered this outburst. From what I had seen by my monitoring our kids were playing with his kids in a keep away tag like game. It may have gotten rowdy, I don’t know I didn’t see, but I immediately assessed the situation and saw all three children happily playing together. No one was hurt, no one was crying. I didn’t care to ask any further questions- at this point my only goal was to remove my children and family away from this situation with an irrationally angry man who had just violently threatened me in public. This involved me entering the tiny play room, removing my children, and collecting their things, while this angry man stood beside me huffing and puffing like he was ready to attack me at the slightest provocation.

We promptly left. What has bothered me the most about this situation is that through it all no one ever stepped in to deescalate the situation. I know that staff were present and reacted to the outburst- the whole restaurant went so silent you could hear a pin drop upon the outburst- including servers walking around the room. Yet after probably 10 minutes of collecting things and getting out of there in fear for my families safety- not one person interjected in the situation.

Am I overreacting? Maybe. I think it was likely a matter of a protective parent who got upset by my kids rowdy play. I definitely get that- I didn’t see my kids behavior and I take full responsibility for that. I’m not saying my boys were not at fault- I really don’t know- but I do know with certainty that no one was hurt, these were *small children* playing, and that it resulted in an adult man physically threatening another adult man in a public situation. This man took a trivial affair and turned it into a serious one, where I was genuinely concerned for my families safety. His response to the situation was completely unfounded and arguably criminal. The fact that no one on staff came to assist in this scenario so we could at least separate ourselves from each other safely really bothered me. I don’t think you should be running a public restaurant with a children’s play area without an effective descalation plan in the event of a public dispute of this nature.

My first instinct is to not be so harsh with my review- I fully understand that this scenario was largely outside the control of the business. Yet, I still can’t get over the fact that I as a customer found myself in a situation where I felt genuinely concerned for my safety and the safety of my children and over the entire course of the event not one staff member even acknowledged what had been going on. And I want to reiterate that I am 100% certain that staff witnessed the event and I’m fairly certain that management was on duty at the time of the event as we witnessed them training other individuals earlier during our meal.

We are loving this new location! My kids love the play place. We had a recent online order mistake on our end, and when I called the location, Dalton was super great to work with and extremely kind. He quickly helped with our error and provided such great and quick service!
