After receiving my order, I noticed a strong, fermented/ammonia like odor coming from multiple Polynesian sauce packets. This was not a normal food smell and appeared consistent with spoilage. I stopped eating immediately. This is not food that should be given to children or pets, and it raises serious safety concerns.
When I reported the issue, employees were able to smell the sauce and agreed it was abnormal. However, the on-duty manager, Seth, did not remove the product and instead escalated the situation by calling the police, despite my being calm, cooperative, and simply reporting a food safety concern. That response was unnecessary and intimidating.
Food that smells fermented or spoiled should be taken seriously and removed immediately. I hope Chick-fil-A corporate reviews this location’s food handling and management practices to prevent this from happening to other families.
Ms. Frantz, we spoke around 7:00 p.m. Please review the formal corporate complaint sent by email, as well as the multiple customer reviews referencing food safety and management concerns at this location. It is concerning to see similar experiences reported by other customers. Meaningful changes are needed to ensure customers are treated professionally and that food safety concerns are addressed promptly and competently.
I ordered two meals about 40 minutes before closing, and the chicken nuggets I received were cold, sticky, smelled strange, and looked gray/pink and undercooked on the inside. It was so disturbing I couldn’t even finish my food. I even felt sick afterward.
I went to the restaurant the very next day, showed the food and photos, and the manager showed little concern — offering only a refund for the nuggets, which did not feel appropriate given the situation.
I also reported the issue to Chick-fil-A corporate over a week ago and was told someone would follow up — no one ever did.
I’m extremely disappointed by the lack of accountability and food safety in this case. I hope this location and corporate leadership take this seriously before someone gets seriously sick.
Best Chick-fil-A that we have been to.
