Absolutely phenomenal experience at Chicas Cuban Cafe! Every single thing we ordered was a hit, but the Ceviche de Camarones deserves a standing ovation. So fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced. You can taste the quality in every bite.
The Vegan Frita Cubana completely blew me away. Hands down one of the best plant-based patties I’ve ever had. You can immediately tell it’s made fresh in-house and not pulled from a freezer, which makes all the difference. Flavorful, satisfying, and done right.
And let’s talk margaritas… next level. Fresh, vibrant, and clearly not made from premade mixes. These are the kind of margaritas that make you pause mid-sip and smile.
Chicas Cuban Cafe has officially earned a spot in my top 5 restaurants in DeLand. Amazing food, great drinks, and a place I’ll be coming back to again and again. Highly recommend!

We had lunch here. The food was delicious with hearty portions. I would highly recommend the Picadillo with rice and beans and the Roasted Mojo Pork with rice and beans. The sweet plantains were really good too. Oh and the Tres Leche cake was so good.

I went there with my wife (02/15/2026), and we ordered churrasco with white rice and black beans. The next day, we both got sick—nausea, terrible stomach pain, and diarrhea. We mentioned it to our neighbors, and they told us they had eaten at Chicas Cafe that same day and experienced the exact same symptoms.
I’ve been to Chicas several times before, and this is the first time I’ve ever had an issue with their food. My wife wanted to call and let them know so they could check what might have gone wrong. But a business that’s been around this long should know what they’re doing. They’re not cheap either, which makes it even more disappointing. My guess is they may have been cutting corners on hygiene or food quality.
This experience cost my wife and me two days of work and a lot of stomach pain. Very disappointed.

If this place could get above 5 stars it would. The service was absolutely impeccable, the Sangria delicious, and the food amazing…. Better than amazing, to die for. My wife and I shared the Tres Leches Torrejas Breakfast, the most flavorful, mouth watering, take on French toast.
The place was beautifully appointed, from the wood bar to the paintings, to the tables and chairs.

I have been impatiently waiting for an opportunity to dine at Chica’s after inadvertently driving by one day. I am so glad we got to eat dinner as a family recently. Our mouths were watering the minute we walked up because of the aroma wafting through the door. Amazing. Our server was on point, patient and attentive. The food was so flavorful and delicious… it was hard to stop. I forgot to take pictures as soon as the food arrived, but remembered before everything was devoured. The next time you visit DeLand, be sure to stop by. They were setting up live music outside on the patio (where we were seated) and my dad was bummed that he didn’t get to stay longer.
Food in the pictures: Churasco with black beans and rice plus tostones; loaded tostones appetizer with Chica’s chicken; mojo pork with maduros and rice; the Cuban egg roll appetizer. The moscato wine was so good as well.
Can’t wait to date night with just my husband.

Being from Miami, I was excited to come to this place for dinner. Yea, they dint have everything i asked about but what they did have, was excellent. My group ordered appetizers, cuban sangawichn cuban egg rolls, and something vegetarian. I got the breaded chicken, rice and beans and the fried yuca. All was very good. We got a dessert (regular flan). Wow, really good. My party had never had flan and they were amazed at how good it was. I also gave them a taste of the chicken. Again, they loved it.
I will be visiting this place again. I recommend them. Worth the drive.

The food here is, it deserves 4.5 stars. The service is good, it’s better when they are not busy. We waited 40 minutes for a popular dish. It was delicious along with apps. The atmosphere is loud. Come and eat the food but expect to wait if it’s crowded.
