I got the Italian beef sandwich with both hot and sweet peppers with an extra side of giardiniera and gravy(au jus, juice, ect). It was ok. Thin almost roast beef style meat that was under seasoned. The gravy was very thin and had a little flavor. The giardiniera side saved the sandwich honestly. All for 18$ Bear Down!

I’ve lived in Lakewood my whole life but had never stopped in. This year, they were on the Colfax Passport list so we decided to give them a try and I unfortunately was very disappointed and the sole reason was the horrible service. We walked in and the older man who I assume is an owner, just kept staring at us without saying a word. The other staff were chatting in the kitchen and kept looking at us but never even acknowledged we were there. Finally, after 7 minutes of waiting the older lady came up and just said “what do you want”. No hi, hello, welcome, nothing. We ordered and sat down. The decor is a huge collection of stuff from Chi-Town through the years. If you’re from there I’m sure its so fun to look at it all. The food was mediocre and coupled with the service it just wasn’t worth it. Based on other reviews it doesn’t seem like they care to fix their attitudes. If you’re a regular or from Chicago, you get treated completely different. We watched it happen to the guys who walked in after us. There are better restaurants in the area with friendly staff and better quality food. I’d recommend them over this place.

Took me back to Chicago, as a native of the he suburbs this brought me back to my childhood. The memorabilia they have collected is fantastic. That aside the food was really good, I got the beef and it was moist and well seasoned and the bun was perfect. The cheese fries were great drenched in authentic cheese sauce. The hot dogs were delicious and authentic with a good snap and the poppy seed bun and all. Chicago natives will feel a slice of home and locals should check it out to see what they missed not growing up in Chicagoland.

As a Chicagoan who lives in Colorado now, this place hit the spot. The nostalgia will get you but the food was awesome. I haven’t had a pizza puff since I was a kid and it was so good. Go visit them for an authentic Chicago style dog or beef.

As a native Chicago guy, my bar is high on Italian beef & sausage combo sandwiches, and this one is pretty good. The sausage was grilled and had good flavor, the beef was tasty, and overall the sandwich had the right balance to be a good eat. Giardinara was also authentic.
Overall, this was the best I have tasted since moving to Denver.

The only reason they got 2 stars is because they make a decent chicago dog, But how can you screw that up?
As absurd as it is to say, ARBYS literally just released an Italian Beef that blows their dry flavorless beef out of the water. They literally keep the beef in the fridge until its ordered and dry meat is splashed into ajus…
You’re supposed to cook the beef in the juice… not just deli roast beef dipped in under-seasoned saltwater.
Charging $15 for this tiny beef is criminal, more $$$ with cheese…

I keep trying this place every year hoping it’s been remedied, to no avail.
Yes im being harsh but it would take minimal effort to make a decent beef.

This place is legit! My husband and I live in CO and are from Chicago and are so happy this is here, the beefs are amazing and the hot dogs are true Chicago style. I love all the memorabilia, it’s like a Chicago museum in there. Highly recommend.
