Big plus – they also have sushi, which was fab since my SO is pescetarian. He was very impressed by the quality of the fish in the salmon sushi roll. He also had the avocado roll which he deemed excellent!
I wanted a big steaming bowl of pho, and they delivered! It was as big as my head. The beef was tender and greens were fresh and plentiful.
Our host said that she was from Kazakhstan so next time, gotta try the items from the Eastern menu which scored well with other reviewers here. And also the shaking beef which looked great on other diners’ tables!
I was super excited because it’s the first truly halal pho place in the area that I know of. The service was good. Our server was quiet and polite and trying our best to understand us. They took a little to bring the food back, but it reassured me as the food was freshly cooked. We ordered two pho bowls, shaking beef Bo luc luc, mien cap noodles, and a couple sushi rolls for the kids. One California and one tempura.
The pho and mien cap were sadly phogettable. The broth was pretty watered down and lacked depth, even after adding all the toppings. We had to phocus hard with salt and hot sauce just to bring it back to life. Once sufficiently seasoned, it was… eh..just fine. Not great, not terrible. Just pho-Ine. If the broth wasn’t so watered down it can be amazing. The noodles needed salt and some hot sauce to give it flavor. It could’ve been much better if it came pre flavored.
The shaking beef was probably the best dish of the night. It was cooked well and had decent flavor, though it didn’t quite feel authentically Vietnamese. But it was really good. Again, nothing was outright bad, but nothing made me want to take a hike back to the city for it.
Both rolls were decent but the Tempura roll was realllly good. Crispy, tasty, and a pho-sure win for the kids. At the end of the day, it wasn’t a pho-iasco, but it also wasn’t a pho-nomenal experience. It was newly opened so perhaps it was just a bad day but curious to see if it’s any better in future.
The service and hospitality were amazing, and everyone was so attentive. We felt very welcomed and taken care of!
To really shine, here are a few ideas: Could you double-check the rice for the cold rolls? The salmon avocado roll had a bit of a hard texture. Also, offering sriracha mayo with the sushi would be great. Lastly, the rice noodles in the pho could use a bit more cooking time.
5/5 for all the dishes. The Pho and the Mien Sao were so warm and hearty, perfect meal for the cold. My favorite was the Frikase! The chicken was so creamy and flavorful, a great pairing with the rice.
The calm ambience of the restaurant makes this a perfect place for a warm and comforting meal. 100% recommend!!!
The food is fresh, flavorful, and Halal – the pho was especially delicious with rich broth and generous portions.
Service was attentive and friendly, and the staff was very helpful.
Cozy atmosphere — perfect for family or friends.
Definitely coming back and highly recommend!
Highly recommend pho and the national dish beshbarmak. The photos don’t do it justice.
