Chicago Greek

  4.7 – 804 reviews   • Greek restaurant

Our menu is half Chicago-style sandwiches and half authentic Greek food. The co-owner and head cook is from Greece, then spent 40 years in the Chicago restaurant business with his family. We are a small, clean, friendly joint, with short wait times. Everything is good!

Tasty! I got the gyro meat platter and split it with a friend and it was enough with the side salad! The gyro meat was tender and flavorful and crispy on the edges. The feta and honey fries were AMAZING. I loved the salty and sweet. The baklava was mediocre. Not a ton of nutty flavor and a bit dry. But I really, great Greek food!

Everything we ordered was excellent. Loved the honey feta fries, Chicago dog, gyro pastrami and hummus. Food all came out quickly and was very fresh. Service was great too. Highly recommend.

Stop serving GYROS! Owner full of excuses instead of fixing the real issue
Give better customer service and stop acting like its the CUSTOMERS FAULT
VERY RUDE. SALTY GREASY and so is the food!
1st time I ordered online the “1/2 lb GYRO” and a seperate basket of fries. I show up and they served me a meat platter only NO WRAP OR VEGGIES JUST MEAT. I decided to ignore their INEFFICIENCY and eat meat and fries. My wife complained while I used the restroom but they didn’t care or change the online option because I went back 3 weeks later to try the ACTUAL Gyro. It WAS A JOKE of a
Gyro and fries upgraded through online system lacks..
Dry and lack toppings.. Meat was (3.5 /5) not 100% lamb, salty greasy.
SMALL Gyro and fries were “upgrade” to basket for an extra 2$ but no extra fries provided.. If so then CHEAP owner.. its just potatoes!
Went in and sat down 2 mins before projected time TOLD to be there.
(he was helping customers when we walked in)
Went in and sat down before order was ready.. THE OWNER came up and asked (AS IF we were baggabonds)
“can I help you?” insert ATTITUDE
We explained we completed online order
“You’re supposed to tell us” he says RUDELY, as if we should’ve known IN AN AWFUL MANOR.
HIS text system tells us we’ll receive A text MESSAGE when order is ready. He told us its INACCURATE and ACTS AS IF ITS OUR FAULT.

The food here is good. They have not only a variety of Greek dishes, but also Chicago style burgers and sandwiches. We enjoyed a Greek salad with chicken, a classic Greek gyro, and Italian sandwich and a Reuben. The French fries were hot, crispy and fresh.
The service was delightful, the girl who took our order and delivered the food was charming.
The restaurant is clean and has some beautiful pictures of Greece on the walls, as well as some Chicago memorabilia.

After traveling through the area for a few days and having not-so-great food at restaurants, I left Chicago Greek feeling very pleased. Service was excellent. The Souvlaki tasted good, the portion of rice was very small but there was lots of bread and salad with it so that’s fine. Tzatziki tasted good though didn’t have much of the garlic kick I’m used to.

Overall, the food was very clean and tasted good. Very good experience and I recommend it.

Gyros are very good, but do need more tzatzili sauce. Fries and onion rings need to be improved, onion rings were burnt. I’ve eaten at several Greek restaurants that are a bit better.

This was great! Tasted awesome! Feta fries is a must have. Spanikopita was great. Rice is odd with the marinara. Not bad just different, I wasn’t a fan. Classic gyro was great. Loaded with meat and tzaziki was amazing. Service was also great. Fast and friendly, good quality of food. Tasted fresh. Will come again eventhough they are Chicago bears fans.

Great vegetarian pitas. First sign of greatness was the fresh pita bread ( freshly made and authentic). The rest was made with a lot of love – plenty of fresh vegetables, olives, roasted peppers, and two delicious dips: fresh tzatziki and humus. A much healthier, and tasty alternative to a fast food sandwich (and cost a little less too). We also got the Greek Fries (hot, tasty fries topped with feta cheese and a side of olive oil). If this place was in my neighborhood, I’d be here weekly. The person that took our order was very polite and hardworking. In the kitchen was a gentleman that based on his quick wit, I suspect is the greek chef that really knows his trade.

The food was so good that I didn’t get a picture until later…. This is a down- home restaurant. It has excellent service. We wanted to split the soulvaki and they brought it out on two separate plates and gave us two separate salads. The chicken was perfectly seasoned. My kids plot a hamburger and it was delicious with great toppings. They were super kind and even had a Halloween bowl with candy for kids. Lots of locals picking up food to go
Best place in Mesquite I’ve ever eaten at.
