Amazing food, got the chicken Tikka Masala and it has a great balance of spice and creaminess. The garlic naan amplifies the flavors in such a pleasant way and the naan’s texture is soft. The place was dead for a Saturday around 7pm. THIS PLACE NEEDS MORE BUSINESS. It’s such. Good. Food. And our server(main bartender) had an amazing attitude and didn’t let slow business stop him from bringing in good vibes.

I hadn’t been to Chicago Dr. Pub in years, but my curiosity was peaked when I heard that they had new owners and were serving Indian food. I chuckled a bit to see that the decor hadn’t changed much, but the food was amazing. We shared the samosas. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala while my husband had the Chicken Curry. The food blew us away. We hope to become regulars.

I work nearby and am so glad to have some variety of food in town. I ordered take out and the food was waiting for me when I got there. The staff member was pleasant and the food was delicious. I will be ordering there again and sending my coworkers that way too

If you are accustomed to authentic Indian food do not eat here. The chicken tikka masala is not made correctly and it has green peppers in it for some reason. The sauce is more like tomato pasta sauce than a tikka masala. It’s not great. I understand why those who have lived in western Michigan their whole lives would enjoy it, but it is not authentic at all.

I was initially excited for the pub to open back up but the new owners have underperformed. The food is expensive for what it is and not particularly great. More concerning is the crowd they’ve been trying to attract with their late night events. Last week there was a shooting during one of their events. Not a safe place to take your family or friends, not the right fit for Grandville.

I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala on Uber Eats. I specified in the notes to make it very spicy. I stressed that I like it to be an 8 out of 10 on the spice. It came as mild as can be. I also checked that I wanted napkins and utensils of which they provided none. I have a strong feeling they don’t read the notes on their orders. Also, it took a long time to get my order. They were having a BOGO deal on the Garlic Naan, so I ordered 2. It came super greasy and deflated. The food was mediocre and the cooks don’t follow any notes.

So happy we stumbled upon this place. While the atmosphere leaves something to be desired, the food and service made up for it. We loved the Indian food, and we will definitely be back! Don’t skip the garlic naan! It’s delicious!

That said… Your Eggplant Chaat used literal tortilla chips instead of eggplant slices. I’m so, so sorry but this is not Eggplant Chaat – this is nachos with a yogurt sauce and cheese with a few grilled eggplant pieces mixed in. I didn’t want a Texmex take on the dish, I wanted Eggplant Chaat and instead had the single worst Indian dish I’ve ever had.
Dal Tadka was bland. Not bad, but it had no soul.
Aloo Gobi was overly greasy.
Naan was good. Keep making it this way.
Atmosphere is fine, service is great.
Chef is incredibly kind, which makes it so much harder to write this review. However I think you need to adjust your menu and kick the ‘Eggplant Chaat’ completely off of it and refine your dishes a bit.
