Any negative reviews on here are probably from folks that typically eat at McDonalds or Burger King. This place is great. Yes it takes a bit to get your food but that’s because it’s fresh not frozen. The owner is a cool guy that listens to suggestions and will make you anything you want even if it’s not on the menu and he’s got the ingredients. There’s a reason he’s got lines practically out the door. I’ve been going here since they opened and have never been disappointed.

Once I came into the small building with my friend, I experienced a very pleasant smell. The menu offers many delicious char burger and chicken sandwiches. Creating your own sandwiches is an option at this good place. Eating outdoors is another option the tasty place offers. If you live in the near west, this place is recommended by me to visit at least once.

The place is a total dive with the look of a classic hot dog stand, which is fine with me, as long at the food is good….which it wasn’t. First if you do try for yourself, make sure you get the paper menu because their menu board is very basic but the paper menu has like 26 different types of burgers and you’d never know it. I ordered a cheeseburger because I didn’t know they had the variety they do. It was ok, but certainly not living up to some of the reviews I’ve seen. They didn’t put cheese on it (as I requested) and it had an overwhelming amount of ketchup and mayo on there. There was also a fishy taste to it. They had Tilapia as a special that day and I’m wondering if the burgers and fish were cooked on the same surface. I also ordered an “amazing steak” sandwich, and there was nothing amazing about it. Pieces of flank steak cut into strips like gyro meat and tasted like it was sitting in the same juices as the Italian beef and mixed with a lot of red wine vinegar (marinated). I’m not sure if they were trying to go for a Italian beef but with steak, good idea but poor execution. It was on a piece of french bread with Swiss ….one bite and I literally threw it out. The flavor combination of the seasonings, marinade and cheese didn’t go well. On a positive note, the fries were pretty solid. I believe they are fresh cut, skin on potatoes. They were fresh and seasoned with garlic salt. There have been at least 5 other owners of this place that I can think of and they all started strong and eventually cut corners and went out of business. You can already see it with this place, RC cola products instead of coke or pepsi, off-brand ketchup instead of Heinz, and I’m sure the list could go on. A little harsh for a hole in the wall? Maybe. However, I feel if you are going to be a hole in the wall, you need to do a few things and do them well…this place just missed the mark. To recap, a modern menu with lots of variety, a no frills atmosphere, but poor execution and quality.

Probably will never go back. Burgers were very overseasoned. Took forever to get our order. I went to this place 3 seprate occasions before and every time they weren’t open and it was like at 2pm…. so I guess be prepared to have a backup place to go. I agree with most other comments fries are very good.
