I’ve been a fan of Chiboo Bakery since pre-brick and mortar, so when it was time to start planning for my sister and I’s birthday, we immediately knew who we wanted to make our macarons. Chelsea was kind and helpful with making sure our custom order went off without a hitch. The day of the party arrived and all the guests raved about not only the look, but the taste of our macarons. I can truly say these were the best tasting macarons I’ve ever had! I cannot wait until my next event, just so I can order from Chiboo again!

The staff are super friendly and bring great conversation. There are many flavors to choose from. There were a couple of vegan macarons as well. The cookie is really perfect. Some flavors were very present and delightful, while others were more delicate and subtle. The Ube lemonade was my favorite!

To know Chelsea is an honor. She is such a sweet, kind, and genuine soul who just so happens to make unbelievably delicious macrons! My husband and I have made it a weekend ritual to go visit her and pick up some delicious treats for us to indulge in. Not only have we enjoyed her treats for ourselves but I have been lucky enough to work with her for custom orders for my job to give other local businesses. She is always so great to work with and goes above and beyond for us. I love supporting woman owned businesses and Herndon is lucky to have her shop in town!

For what little hidden meaning there is to gleen from the bakery name, there seems to be hidden skills begging to be noticed in the form of macarons. The delicate french confections can be temperamental to store and make in temperate/humid climates; what sets Chiboo macarons apart is the chew with crispy outer texture and soft chewy interior. The texture is my favorite.
Macarons can be imbued with flavors anyone can imagine. So it’s nice to see some creative flavors like banana flambe and earl gray tea. And the ideal of sneaking a dollop in jam of the flavor in the macaron filling is really original. However, I do wish the flavors are more pronounced as I taste mostly just sugar. I think major potential is there and I hope to see more interesting flavors to come (oh…. say like real lychee, popcorn, sour plum, liquorice, apple, or real bourbon).

I love supporting small solopreneurs and had high hopes for these after seeing a reel about a pop-up shop for them. The entrance is hard to find, but it is an opaque sliding door!
I eagerly bought a 12 pack and although the flavors were intriguing many of them didn’t really have any taste and were stale, where the texture seemed like they had been sitting out for a while after being frozen. I know there are sporadic hours, so I’d say maybe try again not on a Sunday close to close when they may not be fresh. The two that I felt had a true macron texture and soft chew was the lemon and chocolate strawberry. The rest were so flakey they were falling apart in every bite and the filling was almost a frosting for some. Not my typical macron or worth $3 each 🙁

Love Chiboo bakery! Chelsea did my wedding macarons and I loved how they turned out! I’ve gone to this location a handful of times and they always have wonderful flavors to choose from. My personal favorites are the chocolate, lemon, and raspberry flavors!

Where do I start?
Those Macarons sold by Chiboo Bakery are so delicious, that I could and actually have eaten every week. I think I have tried about all the flavors she has to offer.
But I find myself going back to the fruity flavors. Lemon is my absolute favorite!
Oh and did you see the design she does?? Doesn’t get any cuter!
She also can customize them if you need a hostess gift, staff gifts etc!!
Definitely recommend when you are in the area or if you catch them on the farmers market!!

Chiboo Bakery is an absolute gem in Herndon. Their macarons are some of the best I’ve had, with a great variety of flavors to choose from. My go-tos are pistachio, salted caramel, and especially honeydew, which is my current favorite. The macarons are always fresh, with a perfect texture and vibrant flavor. The staff has been super friendly on each visit I’ve had. They even offer custom macarons, which is a great for those having parties and events. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for a sweet treat.
