Well… The food was pretty good, the dish I got wasn’t the best. I got the beef rib and well it was pretty dry. Some sea salt and pepper would of done wonders, but it was actually overcooked. The French onion soup was actually really good the best iv ever had. The sea bass was well cooked and the lamb was descent. The atmosphere was a bit crowded it used to be more intimate but they added more tables so it does get a bit crowded, and a bit loud, but can still be a nice place for a date.. The service we’ll it was a kid and man the service was pretty bad we had to ask for drink order and to ask again for our order to be taken. He seemed a bit frustrated but it could of been him overwhelmed. There was another server that came she did better, overall I understand the concept, hole in the wall gourmet food it’s good but definitely could have some improvement..

Incredible! Very hidden gem of a place. Such a special dining experience here. Presentation was immaculate. A little on the salty side for the Wellington but flavor was complex and wonderful. Everything just came together nicely. The puff pastry was perfect. Service was very kind.

Hidden gem in Wolfforth just outside of Lubbock city limits.
Definitely worth a visit by foodies visiting West TX.
Melanie, our waitress, is outstanding.
The mural and art inside the restaurant is courtesy of the chef’s fiancé, which add to the “cool factor” of restaurant.

I feel like I’m gonna get hate for this but tamales we’re not good. We moved into town not long ago and I’ve been craving some homemade tamales so while at the farmers market, we were excited to find the Tamale stand that had been all over my foodies page. The guys had amazing customer service and tamales were super huge but the taste just wasn’t for me. As if the masa had too much cumin in them. It was over powering. Would love to try their other food though!

You cannot judge a book by it’s cover with The Tamale Lady!! The staff was amazing, the food was amazing and love the atmosphere! From scratch tamales & all the best mexican things to French Pop Ups and Brunches on the weekends, by reservation only, this is def an experience one must try if you are ever in the Lubbock & surrounding areas! It was great to personally meet you all and thank you for such amazing hospitality to this newbie in the area from DFW, Tx. They have grown so much they will be moving to a newer/bigger area in the upcoming months! So happy for you & your staff Jon! Your passion for good food shows!

First, make a reservation. We didn’t because there were several openings when we looked earlier in the day and 4 tables open when we walked in but we were asked to wait.
Hors d’ oeuvres we’re great!! The French onion and beef soup is flavorful and delicious. Smoked salmon with capers were delicious with fresh bread.
Now for the entrees… we had higher expectations! The braised beef short ribs were somewhat tough and dry, mashed potatoes were bland. However the red wine sauce was delicious!!! Sea bass was cooked perfectly but again, completely bland. Risotto was plain rice. The ratatouille was the most flavorful thing on the dish.
We decided against dessert but I heard the crème brûlée was a hit. Over not bad but again, we expected more.

We had lamb that had not been trimmed well and was difficult to eat. The meal was served cold, and the potatoes and veg were not edible. Desserts and appetizers were fine. Overall a disappointment after the James Beard hype and the cost.

Had an excellent night out at Chez Sami. This restaurant is perfect for a surprise dinner. Its exterior gives the perfect cover for the exciting, intimate interior, the service was attentive, and chef sami’s food is excellent! We had the Prix Fixe menu with rack of lamb, roasted potatoes, and garlic spinach. We also had the hor d’oeuvres which included butternut squash bisque, garlic shrimp, and a baguette with goat cheese and poached quince. Will definitely be back to try the regular menu!
