I’m planning a surprise party for my mom and my siblings and I heard of the restaurant and wanted to try them out for potential catering vendor.
I ordered (no pictures taken) diri kolé (white rice and red kidney beans) and griyot (fried pork). It automatically comes with pikliz (spicy pickled coleslaw) and saus vyan (gravy/ sauce), and fried plantains (green ones). The pork is made to order- so I chose crispy (I like when the fat is soft yet crispy/crunchy). The overall presentation was amazing. The portion size is amazing – easily sharable even if you order a Medium platter. The Co-Owner was very friendly and made the experience unforgettable!!
The Cari-Com is well represented once you walk-in, you’ll see the flags of all the Caribbean Nations and the Nigerian flag – (the Tribe where Haitians Come from) is also represented.
Note: This restaurant is not a sit-down establishment.
Whether you’re a Haitian Native looking for a home cooked meal, Haitian American, Haitian by Association, or someone who is a foodie. You’ll definitely find something on their menu to appease your taste buds!!
Bon appetit!!

Legume no meat, last time it was soup no meat… Over the years I’ve given this place a million chances! I’m a just say there are no Haitian restaurants past Elizabeth,NJ. This is good enough for the locals not me.

Not worth the time or money! Portions are VERY SMALL! For a medium $14-$17 you getting a kids size. The cabbage was so freaking nasty! I see why he wanted to get rid of it. Had the nerve to say it’s the best lol. If you don’t know any better. I truly wasted my hard earned money on this food!! NEVER AGAIN I’ll take the ride to Trenton instead!!!

This place is horrible! Bad customer service. The owner’s daughter always makes mistakes on orders. I ordered a legume with white rice and I got rice and beans. The owner never even apologize. He said he would zell me the money back but never did. Liar! He was defending his daughter’s mistake. Instead of acknowledging he messed up. Take responsibility for your mistake. Im never going back . Mistakes like this constantly are the reason why businesses close down and lose customers.

Oxtails have been on my bucket list for a while. I found myself here in a random Google search and my culinary life has been changed. Absolutely succulent oxtail, made me mad that I didn’t order more. They fall off the bone and the flavor is magnificent. I also had the chicken and beef patties which were light flaky and flavorful. 10/10 for sure. My next try will be some Jerk chicken and mac and cheese, but the oxtail platter will be hard to top.
I’ll be back!

Best Haitian Food and customer service I’ve ever experienced. The owner is super friendly and very kind. I had the fritay with goat and they gave me so much food, I couldn’t even finish it. Went there with a couple of guys and they all liked it and can’t wait to go back!

Ok this was the WORST Haitian food that I’ve ever tasted. I was pissed off and disappointed. I ordered the food to go. But, I opened the piklis in the store to try it before I purchase a big jar and good thing I did. It was flavorless and tasted like vinegar only. There was nothing but cabbage in it, no peppers, carrots or anything else.

So once I get home I opened the food and was upset. The black rice was barely gray. This means that they skimped on the mushrooms. The rice was BLAND. the griot was DRY and flavorless. The onion and bell peppers were raw. I threw the food out and ended up eating a pb&j. $19 worth of trash!

I had the lambi with du riz djon djon and salad russe. Everything was cooked to perfection. We almost sat in our car to finish it, but I had to get ready for a long drive. The only downside? I probably shouldn’t have tasted it at all, because I couldn’t stop thinking about it during my drive.
