Went to pick up an order for a cake. The front desk was not engaging. Asking about ownership and they could not give me clear info. Need to be nicer, more accommodating, and responsive. I almost walked out.

Coming for a break or some sweet treats, there is a lady who was at the cashier and also barista that barely smile or make you feel so much welcome , I don’t know what they been through or could be bad day but at least don’t show a grumpy attitude or shady like that to your customers, it’s happen more than 3 times . That could be a place for stop by one time and don’t have to come back anytime

My family and I have patronized this particular location for years. I must say that the last owners were better managers. The staff and atmosphere was more pleasant and that made the experience that much more enjoyable. Today, my consort and our 6yr old daughter went for lunch. We were not greeted by any of the 2 employees behind the counter. The cashier went straight to ask what we wanted to order. We ordered the same thing we always order. My salad and my daughter’s coconut shrimp came out at the same time. My daughter said thank you to the lady (I’d never seen her there before) who brought the food to the table and she didn’t respond but gave her a little smirk. My inquisitive baby girl asked me why the lady didn’t say “you’re welcome” and why she made the tiny smirk. I responded to her that some people are just rude or unhappy and not to worry about it. That just wasn’t enough for her. She wanted to know what was wrong with the lady so she went to ask. My baby girl is super sweet and gives positive words and hugs. I think she thought maybe she could help her feel better. There were no other customers at the time, so I didn’t give her a hard time about asking the lady what was wrong. I hear her little sweet voice asking the lady what was wrong and why she didn’t smile. The lady responded to my 6yr old that it was too hot in the cafe and she doesn’t have to smile (the air conditioning has been out in the cafe for a while). I was totally taken aback by her response to a child. However, my daughter wanted an answer and she got it…lol! She’s very lighthearted so although she was disappointed, she moved on from that feeling quickly. A gentleman brought out my consort’s meal but his coconut shrimp were old and dry. Some of them looked a day or two old. They were inedible. Once my consort was back from the bathroom, he got the lady’s attention so that he could tell her what was wrong. She did not acknowledge him but motioned to the gentleman and pointed him to our direction. At that point, I was sure she had to have serious issues that had nothing to do with us. However, she should have left them at the door before she clocked in. The gentleman had everything remade fresh and it looked more like what we were used to eating there. My salad was the usual, but much less enjoyable because of the attitude and carelessness of the cashier. Although, the place is not perfect, we had never had such a bad experience there as we did today. Upon exiting, there was no farewell either. Once outside, I saw the lady who is usually at the counter (who I assume is the manager) and I asked her about the cashier and let her know that she was not very nice. Her response was: “o.k.”, then she rushed inside. I can’t confidently say if I will ever return. I will say though, if I ever do, and my experience isn’t significantly better than it has been lately, I will never return. I’d love to see a smile on at least one employee’s face, some training in customer relations, an increase in morale and no more leaning on the pastry counters with cell phones. As of now, I could not, with good conscience, recommend this cafe.

Met a friend here for lunch on a Monday. Go to the counter, place your order and pay. Everything was clean inside. The service was friendly. The shrimp rice bowl was good and fresh.

Croissants were good. Sweet tea tasted old. They swapped it for another drink and served food quickly, so service was good. Cute decor. Would come back.

I used to eat here frequently, despite their lack of customer service, because the pho was decent and in the neighborhood. However, my last two experiences were absolutely unacceptable and have convinced me to NEVER return.

On one visit, I found an incredibly long hair in my bowl of pho. While I was disgusted, they offered me a free meal to make up for it, so I gave them another chance. BIG MISTAKE!!!! When I returned the following week, they served me pho with spoiled beef that smelled horrible.

What made it even worse was their complete lack of apology or accountability. This made me suspect that these issues weren’t accidents but a result of their consistent disregard for quality and hygiene.

This is a serious warning to everyone: DO NOT EAT HERE. They cut corners on food safety and customer service. IT’S NOT WORTH THE RISK!!!!!

They had a note on the door that says due to a shortage of employees they have shortened hours. I believe this is a lie. I believe there are plenty of people who will work. Right down the street there are a dozen employees at Another Broken Egg. What you probably have madam is a management problem. You’re probably a control freak who doesn’t know how to talk to people and your compensation probably sucks. Your product tastes fine. Space seems a bit crowded. The cashier who helped me seemed afraid of her shadow.

We came in, we were very kindly acknowledged and greeted by a lovely young lady. Wonderful service first of all. Secondly, the food. we got the coconut cream pie, the lemon (i forgot what its called), and a canoli. compared to Maurices Bakery in Metaire (which used to be our regular), this place is way better. the canolis dont taste stale. Food is reasonably priced. Honestly, everything was great here and we will definitly be coming back! This is our new go-to bakery here in the city
