The meal we had at Chez Nad was delightful. I highly recommend this spot for a new and refreshing take on classic French bistro fare and I found the prices very reasonable for the quality and portion. The cocktails and desserts were also very intricate and delicious. The chocolate cake was a 10/10. The staff were very kind and attentive as well. We will be back.

i love nadege for their macarons, cakes, and pastries, so naturally, i was excited to hear that they were opening up a restaurant portion of the place!

they reno’d the bakery and the restaurant is at the back of the space where the kitchen once was, and the kitchen is now where they used to sell ice cream. the space is cozy (about 25 seats total), and casual-ish. kind of wish there was a more clear separate definition of the restaurant vs. bakery, to elevate the restaurant area.

as for the actual meal, it was so good!

we started with drinks (soleil cocktail, beer) and the bread basket. it was an assortment of bread (toasted French white bread, softer bread “domes” that were partly like cake in texture, toasted what-I-assume-is day-old croissant, and bread “chips”). cubed salted butter was appreciated, and they also gave a crushed olive paste (? just going off my taste buds lol) in olive oil – not really a fan of this but i also don’t like olives.

the tuna crudo was fresh, though you only get a few slices of thinly sliced sashimi-grade fish for $22.

the mains were definitely the best part!

the duck was perfectly cooked medium with crisp skin and tender meat. the steak was nicely charred and very tender and perfectly cooked medium-rare. both were priced at $42, which was a great value for the quality.

we were too full for dessert but i’ve been to nadege so many times, i know the dessert is good.

Stepping into Chez Nad makes you feel at home after being away for so long. Exceptional service with a well paired and thought out meal. The food was absolutely phenomenal, cocktails had some very fun French twists on classic and the wine list is great. Definitely will be back!

The restaurant section of this pastry stalwart is off to a good start. The menu is populated with a good variety of apps, shareables, and mains. We had the raclette puffs, cordon bleu, and ravioles to start. Delicious cheese sauce, super crispy and juicy chicken. The mains we ordered steak and duck. Cooked perfectly, nice and tender. The dessert selection was like a petit fours and ice cream platter. Overall very impressed.

Celebrated a Bday for a special woman and was delighted by the food. Very tasteful and fresh. Our server seemed to put a smile on the Bday girls face at every moment. The wine was also a great selection by our server.

I would make 1 strong suggestion from my critical side. All I would change of this space is some warmer lighting and maybe some Curtains to divide the Cafe/Desert storefront from the restaurant.

Had a wonderful experience here with my husband and daughter. The bread basket and butter were perfect to start, and everything we tried was beautifully executed — the Lyon salad, gougères, chicken liver mousse (great texture), beef tartare, and ratatouille were all spot on.
Need to try the onion soup and lyonnaise pasta ( forget the original name) next time!
What really surprised me, though, were the cocktails. I honestly didn’t expect them to be that good — perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. This is definitely a place you could come to just for a few drinks at the bar, even without having a full meal.( well, but in my case I will start with the cocktail and then move to have a full meal as both are sooo great !! )

Already looking forward to coming back to try the steak frites and the rest of the menu next time!
P.S you can also take away some dessert and bakery for next morning (that’s what I did !! ) as they have a full functioned pastry shop just attached to it, even ice cream in tub !! ( what a wonderful one stop just to have them all) If you travel from far definitely make your trip worth it not to menthol the shop just face the beautiful park. I bet they will be packed during cherry blossom season and I’ll make sure I make a reservation for that!!

We had an incredible dining experience from start to finish. The staff struck the perfect balance—attentive and welcoming without ever feeling intrusive. Their menu recommendations were spot on and truly enhanced our meal. The food itself was exceptional, with outstanding quality in every dish. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. It’s also a women-owned and operated business, which makes supporting this local gem even more rewarding.

Une excellente adresse!

The quality is definitely top notch, and it even brought back the atmosphere of the bouchons lyonnais that I love. The dishes are very well executed and the menu has some original choices, which is refreshing compared to many places.

The décor is also really nice and creates a great atmosphere without feeling pretentious.

Special mention for the cocktails and the wine list, both are very well curated.

The dessert selection is also excellent, with great quality and some really nice options.

A great spot in Toronto if you’re looking for a French restaurant with a bit of character!

Bravo!

As a fan of Nadege, I was so excited to try the newly opened bistro situated at the back of the bakery.
The warm service and the beautiful decor were so inviting. My favourite from the menu was the duck breast and the pasta. Flavours were on point.
I can’t wait to come back and try more!!

Went with my partner and 2 small kids. Staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. Decor is high end but feels warm with pictures of the chef’s family on the walls. Food is spot on. Clean, seasoned properly, cooked properly, portions are massive on the steak frites for the price they charge. Wine and beer list are also well thought out. Definitely coming back with friends to share the experience. Highly recommend.
