We had a wonderful experience here.
There isn’t really much room to sit down and eat. And I don’t believe the place is air conditioned either. It’s a humble establishment, just like the food.
I would recommend that you grab the food and go to one of the nearby malls and eat in the food court there or return home to eat.
Chez memere represents so much more than just food. It’s a way to make Acadian food and culture accessible to those of us who didn’t grow up with it.

A take out for Acadian cuisine. You have a little over window and small menu to choose from and ate to the right to pick up your food. First time trying Acadian food but a must try if you’re in this region to taste a little bit of history.
The poutine can be eaten sweet or salty. The lady will give you both sugar and salt to try it both ways. I actually prefer the brown sugar on it. It tastes as it looks, dough with a little bit of minced pork. It’s the stick to you bone and keep you full for hours.
The rapee was the same dough but had ham mixed into it and baked so you get a toasty crust that was a little salty and smoky. It was a massive portion and between the 2 of us, the rapee won.
A quick and affordable lunch to taste a bit of history. A win in my books.

The food was simple, but delicious like home cooked food. Service was genuine and friendly. The bun was my favorite part of my meal. Soft, gooey, a little bit of crunch, and just the right amount of sweetness. I highly recommend trying one while you’re there. The other photo is of a potato pancake which was my least favorite. Make sure to ask for juice on the side when ordering the Poutine Rapé, delicious as a soup too!

Coming from out of town – to relive my childhood a little bit, and this place hit the spot! Great poutines rapées and the pets-de-soeur heated up for 15 seconds were perfect. Chiard was great addition too

The definition of a “mom and pop” fast food restaurant! The only issue I had was how weird the open hours are, but I guess there’s not that much demand at the start of the week?

Not the most informed opinion as this was my first time trying Acadian foods but I loved it! The fricot, pet de soeur and poutine a trou especially.

I had the pleasure to enjoy both their poutine rapee and chicken fricot. True Acadian traditional flavours. An absolute treat! Although I do tend to blacken the poutine rapee with pepper, it is not because the poutine itself doesn’t taste great. I shared the meal with my grandfather and he also gave it 2 thumbs up! Between the two of us we each ate 2 poutine rapees and a bowl of chicken fricot and the cost was under $30. The staff were very kind and the service was top notch!

OMG….melt in your mouth goodness with Authentic Acadian dishes. Call in advance as they sell out quickly. Their rapees are the best. Highly recommend. Delicious at its best. True Homemade cooking at its best.

They have really good poutines. Not as good as my memere’s, but close

I have been trying fricot after fricot, trying to find one like an old freind of mine made. Most were very watery or way too thick. I was told to try here, so i finally stopped in today. I got to the cash and placed my order, only to be told they had sold out of fricot 🙁
I was disappointed, but the nice lady said there might be enough left for one..or maybe a half bowl. There was just enough to fill half a bowl and she only charged me half price! Well…omg. i finally found a really GOOD fricot!! No wonder they sell out fast. Two thumbs up!! I WILL be going back..and highly recommend you try it…but leave me some!
The pic is AFTER i had already eaten a bunch ..forgot to take it before 🙂
