I can’t say enough about this place. First of all, every single appetizer and main were absolutely phenomenal. The space itself is gorgeous and set back on a beautiful property on a hill, it felt cosy and fancy! The dining room is very well appointed, references to the past and a formal but not stuffy table setting. Service is prompt and friendly, the drinks were phenomenal. The music tended toward a little old-fashioned, maybe throw in some South American chill music in there as well, but it’s a small quibble. New favourite restaurant in Quito.

This restaurant has two of the three components of a great restaurant. Location and food & service. Sitting on a hill above Whymper, with a windowed face toward the western mountains and a well kept garden, this is one of the more agreeable restaurant locations we’ve tried. From the moment we entered, we were treated to excellent service and attention. The drinks were well made and strong. Ifor our main, I ordered the salmon, which the waiter modified to make or substitute all of the dairy ingredients. My wife ordered the tuna tartar. While we waited, we were treated to a small but welcomed salad followed by some breads, which were hot and well made. Along with the bread there was a buttery herb spread that my wife very much enjoyed, but I stayed away from. When the food arrived, we were delighted by the presentation. My wife’s face lit up as she took a bite of the tuna. She raved about the complexity of the flavors. My salmon was cooked to perfection, and the vegetables made a nice mix of flavors and textures. The salmon had a mushroom jelly, which added a textual experience to the meat but was a little too sweet. Still, the meal was excellent. As we waited, we were treated to some small deserts, with the waiter graciously pointing out the non-dairy items (which both happened to be chocolate )

The foie gras sandwiches are a must order. Sooo tasty. Perfect bite size starters. Absolutely delicious. The steak and fondue was very good. The cheese sauce was really good. Steak was cooked perfectly. The creme brulee was delicious. Great way to finish an incredible meal. The service is perfect. Great recommendations. Beautiful restaurant.

The salmon appetizer wasn’t fresh. It tasted bland and stale. The escargots were drenched in olive oil and an excessive amount of salt. The main dish was strange. A combination of tuna, lychee, soy sauce, and mushrooms. It wasn’t appetizing and isn’t up to fine dining standards.

I was there on a quiet night and I’ll just say it in one sentence.. This place should easily be Michelin rated. Beginning with the professionalism and patience of the servers to the food plating, cooking perfection, the taste and flavors, the decor and not to mention willingness to modify dishes to preference. Would highly recommend a visit if you’re in town.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this beautiful French restaurant in Quito, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the elegant ambiance — warm lighting, tasteful décor, and a welcoming atmosphere that made the evening feel special.

The service was excellent; the staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making great recommendations and ensuring everything was perfect throughout our meal.

For appetizers, we ordered the octopus and the classic French onion soup — both were cooked to perfection, with rich flavors and impeccable presentation. For the main course, we tried the filet mignon with pepper and langostino, which was tender, flavorful, and perfectly paired. We also had an outstanding Uruguayan beef dish (I forgot the exact name), but it was by far one of the best plates of meat I’ve ever tasted — juicy, well-seasoned, and unforgettable.

Dessert was just as impressive, rounding out the meal with a sweet and satisfying finish. Every course showcased the chef’s skill and attention to detail.

If you’re in Quito and looking for an elegant dining experience with incredible food and top-tier service, this restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
